Often times I see my cat looking beyond me as if he is following something with his eyes. When I turn, nothing is there. Can cats see spirits/ghosts/dead people?

yes they can. i grew up in a house full of both spirtis and cats. the cats were afraid of the spirits there.

Great question. I often wonder the same thing with one of my cats. Sometimes I will find that he is staring at an old spiderweb hanging down that is hard to see. Other times I have no idea what he could be staring at and for so long.

I believe they can. I think I have spirits in my home now, and my cat acts like she is rubbing up against someone that I don't see. A lot of the times I see a shadowy figure in the doorway to my hall and my cat sits there and meows at it. I think animals are definately more intuitive to paranormal activity then us humans.

Do you have a dog also? I have always been told that dogs tend to bring the spirits and cats make them go away. I have heard that spirits don't like cats.

I certainly think they can. Mine often act strange, as if they are playing with another cat when they appear to be alone. I had a dog that I swore saw things as well.
My tabby often runs from rooms as if being chased by something - her tail is bushed, her eyes dialated and her heart racing. Nothing much startles her save being left alone in a room.

i think cats can. animals usally have a power that humans dont . and maybe cats can see spirits. im sure they can. i went to a cat adoption and this cat was mewing like crazy! she looked past me but when i turned around i couldnt see anything but people and cats. that must be some kind of proof because i didnt see any thing! (but people and cats)

I'm pretty sure they can! I lived in a house that Definetely had Ghosts in it, and my cat would start hissing and batting at the air sometimes...His tail would get HUGE and he would freak out....and other times I'd see him chasing an imaginary "string" like thing...It was crazy!
I guess at times he was ok with the Ghosts and at others they just bothered him and made him mad....
