I have two 5-6 month old kittens. They appeared to be doing fine, eating, playing etc....but one of them just peed on my husbands sweatshirt. Would they be marking their territory already...they will be 6 months at the end of March. The only other things out of the ordinary is that I have been gone a lot these last couple of weeks. Could that have something to do with it?

Well, We got our cat fixed today. Well, I understand she is hurting. But she couldn't walk (understandable) forwards, so she was walking backwards..... The vet said she might do that. So she walked herself into a corner, under our corner table. Now she has been sitting there for 5 hours. The vet said to not pick her up (it might tear her stitches). Now my question is.... is she going to be ok? Is it normal for her to sit in the same spot without moving for 5 hours? What if she doesnt move all night? I put her water by her, and her food. But is she ok? Is this normal?????

Also, how do they go to the bathroom with this pain and hurting. I mean if she isn't even moving to walk... how is she going to go to the bathroom? Also, she is going to have to climb into her litter box... She I get a cardboard box and cut it so she doesnt have to climb in a huge box???

How could I get her out of the corner... And If i can't is she going to be ok?

Please help me!

I know they don't right off, but can they learn that signs mean things?

I'm deaf and I sign to my kitty. I'm wondering though, does kitty know that I can't hear? She meows at me regardless.

I know that kittys respond to vocal inflections, but will she learn that certain movements mean that I'm happy with her and certain ones mean that she's been a naughty kitty?

She doesn't seem to be effected by my attempts to communicate, but then again, she is a cat.

I have a 7-month old kitten (female) and we recently toke in a 3-year cat (male) that almost died out in the cold. We put the cats in the same area and the kitten hisses and growls at the cat. What is the deal with that? Is it because she is still a kitten and we need to socialize her more or is that she is just that way; her personality.

We own 2 cats. The younger cat (female) has taken to using the older cat's (also a female) litterbox, causing the older cat to deficate just outside of her litterbox. She will not go in any litterbox that is not exclusivly hers. How can we correct this problem?

My cat is a strange guy, he likes to lick our firplace poker (when it's cold) of all its ash. I caught him last night again for the third time since we've gotten the fireplace (recently). He also licks tape whenever he can. I know its not safe, but is it really dangerous? He's our baby and we don't want him getting sick.

I can't believe how much these things cost, so I decided to make one. I need some good plans and some supplies that I could use. Does anyone know if I can get some 17" tubing or legs that are already round?

I have a male cat named Bubba. He walks up to a person's foot with his tail lifted high and turns around so his butt is facing the shoe and then his tail begins shaking as if he were spraying but he doesn't, thank GOD, actually spray. Also he walks up to your foot, turns and bumps his butt into it and then stretches one or the other of his back legs. He will keep doing it over and over and over again. You kind of have to just keep gently kicking him away or even move your feet so he just stops it. What the heck is his issue?

My kitten is packing on the pounds! She eats a lot, and well, it shows. I haven't felt comfortable cutting back on her food because I know she's still growing, and what if she needs all that food? But I'm starting to think she couldn't possibly need that much because she's getting so chunky, and she's only 6 months old! So how much should I be feeding her, in order to continue to promote healthy growth but prevent obesity?

Our cats (they live in the garage) have a cat box that I clean out every day. It seems like every day there is stuff on the bottom, like someone poured a bucket of water in it. It really doesn't seem right. I am sure that isn't the cat's droppings or anything. What is going on?

I tried using a covered box but he wont use them, I tried not putting as much litter in it but that does nothing to improve and he digs all the way to the bottom of the pan no matter how much I put in.

The biggest point is, he throws the litter EVERYWHERE, how can I prevent this?

We just adopted our kitten from the SPCA on Saturday. She is 3-4 months old, was spayed Friday, and has a URI (sneezing, stuffy nose, wheezing). The vet gave me Clavamox (sp?) but said the URI will have to clear on its own. The thing is, when we first brought her home and put her in her safe room with her food, litterbox, and carrier (to sleep in) she used it just fine for both urination and bowel movements. But now, every since yesterday, she's been not using it at all unless I pick her up right as I see her start to urinate somewhere else (the bed, hubsband's pants on the floor, under the coffee table) and put her in her litterbox. And she hasn't had a bowel movement at all that I can see in the last 24 hours. Is this normal? I am supposed to call the vet on Friday to let them know how she's doing, but I'm terribly worried. We put her in the bathroom during the day, take her out at night. HELP??

My cat got out the other day and she was in heat and ended up hooking up with a male. I never had her fixed cause she never went out. I am 99% positive she is pregnant and I am owrried that having kittens at 5 years old would end up killing her. Any advice to ease my worries. She has never had kittens or hooked up for that matter.
