19 years old is old for a cat. Yes some live over 19 to 20 years, but its unusual. I had a brother and sister that both lived to over 19 years of age. They were very healthy until all of a sudden they started to not eat, drank little amounts of water and just basically slept all of the time. Both cats had kidney problems and I had to put them down. I lost both of them within 6 months of each other. So I would say, from my experience, that your girl is just old and her body is giving out. In people years, she is probably close to or over 100 years old. Take her to a vet and have them look her over.

19 is old for a cat, but i had one live to be 21. Just this week I lost one that was only 10. Every time I took her to the vet she had lost weight. Yet she ate well. I believe her body was just shutting down and I gave her as much attention and love as I could. I would make a trip to the vet and see what they have to say about the straining to go to the bathroom. Good Luck and be generous with the love.

You should have her checked out by a vet. I lost my cat age 19 last from kidney failure, which is a common cause of death in old cats. Weight loss is one of the signs of this. A blood test can show whether her kidneys are struggling. The fact she is not drinking enough could be putting strain on her kidneys. I rehydrated my cat at home using a needle placed subcutaneously in the skin at the back of her neck (vet taught me how - sounds scary but not hard) and it slowed down the progression of the kidney disease for awhile and it did not bother the cat. Kidney disease is not painful, but the cats to gradually slow down and lose weight and finally just get very weak.

She is getting older. If it is transforming into too lots of a undertaking, positioned her to sleep to end her soreness. undergo in strategies that she lived a protracted existence. a protracted existence for a cat may well be 20 years, it fairly is approximately one hundred twenty years in cat. Her immune equipment additionally might have something incorrect with it. Ask your vet. She additionally may well be ingesting her nutrition too speedy. provide it to her insmall quantities. Say a million/4 cup. whilst she finishes that, an hour later provide her something of her nutrition. If situation keeps, have X-Rays. She might have a severe affliction. do not enable her close to different cats to be risk-free.

It could be either one. However, I strongly suggest that you take her to the vet right away. You say she's having trouble with BM's? Not a good sign. Neither is her not drinking water. Don't guess on this one...let the vet take a look at her, because it could be her age. Let me know how she does. Good luck.

Sounds like old age to me. I would take her to the vet to make sure there is nothing else making her ill like this. My mom had her cat for 18 years and because of old age, he stopped eating, drink, playing, ect. The vet ran test and found nothing serious wrong with her. It was just signs of his time. Good luck with your cat.

She's 19 years old, I think you know what's happening. Just have fun with her while you can. Just remember, a cats liver fails if it doesn't drink for two days. So, once she stops drinking, you might as well have her put to sleep.

if she was missing her owner chances are this would have happened shortly after, not now.
19 is a very good age for a cat. what you have described sounds exactly like the symptoms my cat showed before he was put down ~ it was old age.
the most human thing would be to have it put down
