About 3 years ago I found a stray little kitten that had been half submerged in a mud puddle... upon taking him to the vet they diagnosed him with double pneumonia. The vet told me in order to facilitate his breathing all I needed to do was rub a little bit of vick's vapor rub on me and let the cat breathe it in. This little kitten was extremely weak but it seemed to help him breathe better. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

I ve got a better idea,if youve got a small vaporizer, put a miniscule amont of vicks in the hot water and put it someplace where the cat cannot reach, leave the cat in the same room and let the vapors fill the room.. tis should work as ive do this with one of my guinea pigs. I hope this works I dont like to see an animal suffer. good luck!

I'd ask the vet.
or just hold it under her nose for awhile; let her smell it.
I wouldn't rub it on her, though without the vet's approval

Plese don't do this without asking your vet. The antibiotics will kick in and she will be fine. Playing Dr. with your cat is dangerous. LOL

why would you be doing that? in the first place, vicks vaporub is not a nasal decongestant, and so is the vicks inhaler... (you might also be thinking of trying it on your cat, too...)

NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! Vicks is petroleum based and if she swallows in and it goes into the lungs there is nothing that can be done to save her. It will freeze her lungs. Not worth it.

I wouldn't put it on her...but I would put the tub up to her nose and let her breath it in. Another option would to be too when you are taking a hot shower..take her in the bathroom with you and let the bathroom steam up.

i have never heard of that for cats ..i don;t think i would do it as there sense of smell is 100times more stronger than ours.i don;t even use diluted bleach as it's to strong for their little noses..that's nice that you love your baby to help her but not that way,,,,,,,with her meds she should be in good shape in 7days or so,,,

best thing is to get a big dropper at cvs or ace hardware and some nyquil. wrap the little precious up in a towel so you don't get clawed up then stick it down her mouth and squeeze in the nyquil. keep giving it to her until she gets better.
