Dad is smart. Listen to him. You don't need to have your cat have kittens. Have Dad insure that won't happen by taking the cat to the vet to be spayed.

listen to your father on this one. Breeding cats is a lot of work and a lot of money. It may sound like fun, but it really isn't as much fun as you think. The cat may do the initial hard stuff like carrying the kittens and giving birth, but you have to be there, or should be during the birth. You have to help with making sure the kittens come out ok and no problems with the umbilical cords and placentas. Then comes the hard part, watching Mom and making sure that she feeds her kittens, and then you have to help ween the kittens off of Mom's milk, and onto food. During all this you have to pay for all the vet bills and then all the food, and then you are left with a number of kittens that you have to give away, and make sure they have good homes. It's a lot of work. Are you sure you really want to go through all of this

There are millions of cats and kittens in shelters that would be a much better choice for you. Your cat should be neutered/spayed to help keep the population down. I'm sure you'd find a beautiful little kitty that would love a warm home.

There are so many unwanted kitties in this world. Are you going to care and pay for all the kittens shots? My boy kitty I got from the pound, while I was waiting in line to tell the pound workers which kitty I wanted a man brung in 5 kittens. Two tabbies, a white kitten, a black kitty, and a grey striped one. They could all fit in his hands. he gave them to the pound workers and they put them on a tray them covered them with a big blue plastic cage. It left a dent in my heart. : *( They started crying and meowing, I will never forget that site. I pray they found good homes. All most animals do is love, and they are placed in cages and put to death in three days in most places if that if they are not adopted. If you will not be taking care of your kittens, then the above scenario is what will happen. Innocent animals should not have to die because we want a litter of kittens, and do not have the sources to take care of them.

yah... basically everything said above... kittens are being put to sleep in shelters every minute because there is such an over population of them. Unless your cat is a purebreed himalayan or persian or something like that and you're breeding specific breeds of cats DO NOT BREED YOUR CAT!! it's just downright irresponsible and incredibly immature.

fist have your cat fixed then think about adoption. There are already a tone of unwanted cats out there in the world. Unless your cat is a purebread there is possibly no "market" for selling the kittens and they will end up in a shelter.

Sorry but your Dad is right. It's real hard to find homes for kittens and even if you decided to keep them all, the expense will be high. All the shots and spaying and neutering will really add up.

Why??? there is a huge overpopulation of cats & you would be adding to the number of cats that are put down every year. I think your Dad is smart!!
