Thanks to those of you who seriously answered :) Yes, Maui is neutered...we had that done before the holidays. I'll definitely try out the squirt bottle!

I don't know what you'd do, but I sure know what I'D do. I'd get a dog.

Well the good thing is that it is definately a problem that can be fixed quite easily and it's normal for cats to do this. I highly doubt he's still teething but if he isn't eating regularly or there are some other things up you may want to take him to the vet and have him checked out, he could have a dental problem or something else. But if not he's just being a young misbehaving cat and you just need to teach him that biting is not ok by flicking some water at him when he does and telling him "no" or by lightly tapping him on the nose with of course the "no" vocal command. Cat's a very smart and as young as he is he should pick up quick! But whatever you do don't get rid of him!

I really don't know if he is still teething or not. I don't think he should be though. Aside from that though, provide him with appropriate things to chew on. Like toys. You may have to play with him so that he is encouraged to chew on the toy and thus wears out his desire to bite. If he continues to bite you could try a GENTLE tap on the nose and tell him, "No!" firmly. Or if you don't think that would work, you could try giving him a quick squirt with a water bottle. But I wouldn't reccommend that unless he is just being stubborn. That could scare him. Good luck!

he is probably being a cat but you should still stop the behavior now. my suggestion would be to keep a spray bottle of water with you and when he does an unwanted behavior lightly spray him. he should learn pretty quickly that biting is not a wanted behavior

If it becomes a problem just get a small spray bottle and fill it with water and spray the cat when he bites you-he'll eventually should stop

When your cat bites you, that means your doing something with her or not doing what you normally do.. I have 6 and when I'm on my computer and ignore them, they let know by biteing but not hard. Just enough to let me know its time to give them a good brushing.

Get a squirt gun and squirt him when he bites. Cats hate that and he will soon see that the biting and squirting are connected. Have you had him neutered?

teething is unlikely. he's probably just being a cat, but u don't want to let him continue to do this. unless they're love nips, do u kno the difference? everytime he bites u, spritz him LIGHTLY with water. just plain water, don't hurt him, but make sure its within seconds after he does it or he won't understand the punishment

At that age it is more likely he has established biting as a bad habit. One way to break him from it is to be firm and tell him no. If that doesn't work you may need to find another way to discourage his doing it like a swat on the butt.
