I am hoping somebody can help, my 4 week old kittens are now eating normal food, unfortunately their mother comes along and pinches it. I try and feed the kittens at the same time as their mother, but she still manages to finish hers and then has theirs. I didn't want to lock her in another room as I didn't want her to get jealous as she is not very motherly with with the kittens as it is.

They never used to...
They are about 8/9 years old... Sisters from the same litter... Always used to be fine... used to sleep together and lick each other (cute!) But now.. They can't seem to stand the site of each other.. Always fight and hiss etc.
They are fine with the other, older cat that is no relation... and fine with the old dog and always have been... Just within the last year they seem to fight each other...
Any ideas??

xx

I'v just dropped my cat off at the vets for a heart scan and while he was giving her the once over, he said that she has a pocket of fat on her back leg which he is going to look at while she is having her scan. Is this a serious condition?

Mine eats tomato soup she loves it and gets quite miffed if I don't save her some when I have any.
So come on tell me what strange and wonderful food does your cat like?

I think he was taken from outside my farm on Sunday afternoon. He is a beautiful ginger Maine Coon cat (long haired) and is very friendly. I have tried local vets, cats protection, Battersea dogs/cats home, rspca and putting up posters. If he has been taken, is there much I can do??

About a week ago, I took my cats (2 one year old males) to the vet to get their ears checked. I have a big carrier that I put them both in. Last time they were at the vet, they were there to get neutered and had to stay overnight. They hissed at each other several times when we took them home.

When I took them this time, they would not come out of the carrier. I opened the door to get them out, they started hissing at me and the vet. We had to physically take the carrier apart to get them out. We took Dante out, he was still hissing at the vet when she was trying to check him. She had to have a tech hold him while she checked him. Even after I took them home, they were still hissing and fighting with each other.

We have to take them to get their annual checkup/shots in a few month. I am afraid of what will happen when I take them back to the vet. Any advice on how to keep them calm so the vet can give them a proper check up?

Outdoor cats only live 5-7 years, compared to indoor cats that can live up to 20 years or more. Outdoors they get hit by cars, wander off and get lost, get sick and get into fights with other cats, not to mention the possibility of abuse. We dont let our dogs wander outside, why is it ok for cats.

The vet checked his thyroid (rubbed his throat) and de-wormed him. Other than that, he didn't seem to be concerned that anything was wrong. I'm worried cause I can SEE that he's losing weight. He seems to eat and drink the same amount as usual. No throwing up or crying. No changes in the kitty litter box. No unusual fur loss. No fleas or bugs.
Is there something I can demand that the vet do to determine what the problem is?

This is my son's homework assignment. Another question is: Why will cats purr even when hurt?

My kitten is about 6 mo. old and started "talking" a lot more than usual this evening and rolling around - just plain acting weird. Then she left for a few hours (she's an indoor/outdoor cat) and I'm afraid to let her back out now.

We have 10 yr old male tabby maine-**** mix DLH approx 12 lbs. We cannot be certain but believe he slipped out & was hit by a car last night & somehow got back inside where he pooped on carpet & was panting & crying & dragging himself as he couldn't use his back legs. We brought to emergency vet, inital exam showed trauma but no broken bones. Further overnight observation, blood testing & xrays showed fluid in lungs, blood in urine, muscle damage & minimal internal bleeding. Vet is optimistic with time cat will get better & says these symptoms & this severe trauma most likely indicate hit by car. Cat has good blood flow to legs & can feel & use them but very painful so he won't. He is breathing better today & less blood in urine but will stay overnight to minimize stress & chance of relapse on lungs. What is the outlook on recovery & how long? Vet says he'll probably start walking in about 2 weeks. I am so upset someone hit him like he was nothing & kept going but WE LOVE HIM VERY MUCH

One of my cats LOVES hands. She loves laying right next to them or rubbing her face against them. If she sees your hand, she automatically runs right towards it and cuddles with it. And if she lays down and I put my hand near her, she has to adjust herself so she can be right near it or against it. Anyone know why some cats do that? My other cat doesn't. And my cat is mainly only fixed on hands.
