I have a male cat and he has never sprayed. Male cats will spray when they are being territorial. If you have no other cats you should be okay. A neutered cat can still spray - my friends cat does. My cat has since been neutered and has a dog friend in the house and has continued to be an angel :) If you catch him spraying reprimand him. Bad habits can be broken just as when a cat jumps on a table and you spray him with some water. I would test him out around the house. If he does happen to spray they sell that spray for cat urine-one of those as seen on tv type of things. Best of luck and congrats on the new addition to your family

We had a male cat that was leash trained. He loved to walk on the leash, but a male cat WILL spray! You can't ever expect to be able to
"train" a male cat not to spray. If he is neutered it will lessen the chances of this practice, but we've also had neutered males that sprayed all of their lives.

Spraying is natural marking behavior for any adult male cat. There is no way you can keep him from spraying, and walking him on a leash outside will not get him to go out there instead of in your house.
The ONLY way to keep a male cat from spraying is to have him neutered prior to reaching sexual maturity. That's it, there's just no other way to do it.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!
Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

My male cat was neutered as soon as the vet said it was time. He never had a chance to develope the habit of spraying. Neutering is the only way that I know of to avoid this.

You can't teach him not to spray. It is a thing they just do--they are marking their territory. I suggest strongly you get him neutered. They don't spray then. Also, if he goes outside & hes not neutered the chances of him being in cat fights increases. Cats transfer FIV+ in those fights. That leads to another battle for you and the cat. I feel it would be a very responsible thing for you to do for your cat that you get him neutered. There are lots of cats that get put down, so doesn't that tell you not to breed cats.

Again first off you should neuter him so that he doesnt pee on anything in the house... and eventually he'll move to your clothes and you will go to work smelling like cat piss... EEWWW... secondly why are you taking a cat for walks and with you to go fishing... GET A DOG!
