One of my cats LOVES hands. She loves laying right next to them or rubbing her face against them. If she sees your hand, she automatically runs right towards it and cuddles with it. And if she lays down and I put my hand near her, she has to adjust herself so she can be right near it or against it. Anyone know why some cats do that? My other cat doesn't. And my cat is mainly only fixed on hands.

Your kitty's fixation with hands obviously comes from the fact that she associates hands with good feelings (warmth, petting carress, affirmation, assurance, etc.). I think it is sooo cute and adorable that your kitty does this... and no, I know of no other cat that is quite as fixated with hands as yours is.

Most cats find an obsession with different things whether it is a portion of a persons body or a favorite pillow. I have one cat who walks around all day with a half of a fluffy purple scarf. And the other one wants to brush her teeth against a toothbrush all the time. I've also know other cats who have had similar obsessions.

I agree with the answers that were given. I had a cat that would always sleep in the curve of my legs at the knees. I figured it was for warmth. I have now have a cat that is fixated with feet. At night she will lay by my feet when she goes to sleep. When she wants me to wake up and let her downstairs she goes under the covers and lick my feet. If doesn't wake me she starts to nibble on them. Believe me, that wakes me up.

She knows that the hand is what caresses and strokes her and wants to be near it. Some cats are just not as lovable as others and it's always a treat to find one that is. Be happy you have such a cat. She sounds wonderful.

Some cats are more socially oriented than others. She has no fear of humans as you are very good to her, so she rubs herself on your hands and on others.

I'm not too sure, but my kitten does the same thing with feet.
