If you are truly interested in a great breed go to www.ustk9.com. This is my boyfriend's police k9 academy and they use only german bred rottweilers, and german and czech bred german sheperds of the best breeding.
Email them and they would be able to put you on the right track to finding a great dog. The owner's name is Melinda.
Bear in mind that a good german rottweiler is going to cost quite a bit of money.
If you have any more questions feel free to email my boyfriend at spazhound83@hotmail.com and mention German Rottweilers.

Shelter. You would not belive how may rotties end up there. Mine we got from the pound. stay away from people selling in newspaper ads, those are back yard breeders. If not, look for a reputable breeder, one that does health checks and thier dog is a perfect example of the breed standards. Consider adoption though, check petfinder to look at your local shelters, there are so many that need homes.

Shelters have lots of rots.

The nice thing about adopting an adult dog is that you already know their size and personality so you don't get a bad dog (like a spaz or bad with kids or whatever).
