I am hoping somebody can help, my 4 week old kittens are now eating normal food, unfortunately their mother comes along and pinches it. I try and feed the kittens at the same time as their mother, but she still manages to finish hers and then has theirs. I didn't want to lock her in another room as I didn't want her to get jealous as she is not very motherly with with the kittens as it is.

I am not starving her!!!,
She gets food morning noon and night and dry food is left out during the day.

As a rule of thumb, I leave dry cat food out and available all the time. That way they don't have to gorge themselves in one or two sittings; they can snack as they please. You know how particular some cats can be. LOL In your situation, you can leave kitten food on the floor and make a place just for Momma higher up, like on a counter or bathroom sink, with both food and water. That way the kittens won't eat the adult food (when you switch her back) and she'll feel more important. Cats are very territorial and this might help to calm her down if she has her own space. This will also tell you if she's eating more just to steal from the kittens, or if she truly is still hungry. Hope this helps!
Blessings

When you feed the kittens take the mum into another room and feed her little treats, pet her and just make a fuss over her. The little ones need to eat so you really have no choice about keeping her away from them.

She might still be hungry, give her a little more food than normal as she has just had kittens and is run off her feet like we are when we have children.
good luck hope you can sort this out in some way, maybe talking to the vet and see what idea they have for you to try.

The kitten food probably has a better taste. You should feed them separately, until the kittens are eating the same food.

If she is still nursing then maybe she needs to eat more, I would try to feed the kittens when she is not around, or put her out of the room, I don't think she will get jealous.

Nursing cats need more calories and she may need more food herself. At 4 weeks, the kittens will still be nursing and not relying on solids yet, so as long as there is enough for everyone that would be ok.
She isn't jealous, but probably hungry.

Are the kittens still nursing? It's OK if they are still nursing as Mom needs the extra fat and nutrients. If not, feed them separately, she will just have to deal with it.

SHE MUST BE HUNGRY,GIVE HER MORE FOOD.AS SHE MUST BE STILL FEEDING THE KITTENS. I WOULDNT WORRY ABOUT IT JUST YET.WAIT TILL THEY ARE A BIT BIGGER.THEN YOU CAN SEPARATE THEM AT FEEDING TIMES.

You have to feed them separately - it's more work, but you must.
