Ok, if your cat is out in the freezing cold why are you on the computer. You should be out screaming your lungs out for the cat using her name, looking everywhere in the neighborhood and putting up signs so that people will be on the look out for your cat. They don't do well in snow, they are fine in cold, even very cold weather, and hopefully she has found someplace warm nearby to hide out. But she isn't going to find her way home unless you and your family are out there looking. Go now and get off the computer.

OK get your snow boots on and follow the prints in the snow, if there is (think of a entire block radius) Look around, depending on how good you two are with each other she probably wont run from you, BUT if she is scared she will run. Just double check everywhere close by. They can hide in the most unusual places
Had that problem with my cat of a year raised her from birth, she came to me in the house but outside she ran. No luck place litter box and food out for her and a warm place to sleep if she returns. Try again in the morning. Look every where. If a house has a spot to where she can get in check there.

Don't know how to find her. Just wanted to tell you that she will more than likely come home herself. My new cat ran away a couple of weeks ago. She was out for over a week in the snow with below zero temperatures. I thought she was dead. One day I opened my door and there she sat on my porch, looking as if she had always been there. Cats are surprisingly hardy.

My indoor cat got out a couple times in the freezing cold and I was worried sick over her. Well two-three days later she returned and very cold. She slept for nearly 3 days she was so tired. The last time she got out she ran over to the neighbors and a few minutes later she was at my front door meowing. It was too cold for her. My cat did come back each time. However she is now pregnant because of this and we are expecting kittens any day!! :) I believe she will return just be patient. Be sure to check the front door several times throughout the day and night to see if she is there. Good luck!!

Don't Freak out too much. First off remember that cats have a nice fur coat for a reason. Then remember that they are very creative creatures and can probably find warmth somewhere if they are lost. You need to put something of the cats outside so they can smell it and then you should probably put a box with a towel or something in it in case she comes back and you aren't aware of it. And then say a prayer. and hope she comes home soon.

I have read that lost house pets (pets that are usually kept indoors) will usually stay close to home. They will realize they are lost and if they are too scared or confused to find their way home they will just hide out - but are often within a block from their home! Check your property really well. Make sure you call your cat and then listen carefully for any noises. Cats don't always come like dogs - even when they are cold and scared. Go door to door and talk to neighbors or leave fliers at doors - describe your cat and give your phone number. See the following link for more tips.
Also - make sure to call your local humane society and leave your name and number in case someone finds your cat and brings it to them.

Is she used to going outside? If not, if she just got scared and ran out the door or something, she more than likely is right under your nose. She probably didn't go far, she probably found the quickest hiding spot and is staying there until she feels safe. Just go outside and look under your porch, in the trees, etc with a flashlight, and maybe you can catch the reflection in her eyes. If not, leave some food on the porch and hopefully she will come back on her own.

cats love food....and they have good noses. she will be fine, but i feel for you. i have had my cats escape before and i stayed outside and froze waiting for them to come home! go outside and try to make sure it is as quiet as can be. take a can opener and tap the side of a tuna can. open the can slowly. toss the cover onto the ground so it makes noise. hold the can up and dump the juice out. this will create a smell and sound. then set the can on the ground or steps and walk away. when the cat comes to the food, approach very slowly. crouch down as low as you can and hold your hand out so she knows you're not runnning after her. i had to do this many many many times over the years. my cats are my babies! i hope this works! i used to keep collars on my cats and they had tags and sometimes a bell. my cat was missing one night and my boyfriend (now my husband) took me back to his apartment after we gave up looking for the cat. i had the window down and i actually heard the jingle of his collar! we found him about a block away. so good luck to you once again! i wish you the best of luck! i feel your pain!

She'll come back.
You could let a mouse sleep in the bed with you. Your cat will peek in the window, see this unholy alliance, and become so jealous that she will beg to come back in the house.
