My, fourteen year old female cat, had 3 teeth extracted over two weeks ago. She seemed back to herself was eating and drinking well. She went back for a follow up with the vet last week. He seemed happy that her gums were healing nicely. As of today, she has not seemed as alert, and eat some of her food. After she eat her dinner she headed down to the basement. When I know she is not well she likes to lie up in the ceiling beams of my basement. She has done this when I believe she has run a fever. What can I do for her in the meantime to help her. Money is tight for me right now. Especially after spending over 300.00 for her surgery. Any advice out there?

My cat, Kicha, is 4 years old. Yesterday, I brought home a cat who just got spayed earlier in the day, home from the shelter. The cat I brought home, Patty, is seven months old. She's very sweet and I really like her, but she doesn't get along with Kicha. Patty swipes at Kicha with her paw and she hissed at her twice. Kicha tries to sniff her but Patty meows at her or hisses (she hisses not really loudly or terribly, but she hisses). Whenever I pet Patty, Kicha looks really sad. I feel like Kicha's jealous, but they don't get along! What should I do, besides give one of them away (I won't do that)? Does the fact that Patty has stiches (removeable, not dissalveable) or that she's recently been spayed change anything? Kicha isn't spayed, but she's getting spayed soon. I really want them to get along! Please help!

hi, ive had my female cat for 2 years now and shes not a very nice cat! i love her and dont want to get rid of her but i have a 3 month old and im worried that when she is older my cat may scratch her. i dont no whats made her this way, when she was a kitten she was fine but was overly played with by partner and family so dont no if this was the reason or maybe it was because we have moved 3 times or maybe she is half ferral? or it could be because shes an inddor cat?? i just dont no but i really want her to be a nice cat as at the moment shes banned from front room in case she gets little one which i hate to do but have to, she comes in room when little ones in bed but thats it,but i have to say that she is nice when she is on call to males! shes nice to everyone and wouldnt hurt a fly then!? can anyone help with this issue??? is there ANYTHING i can do apart from getting rid of her??

My cat has been throwing up Bright Yellow Bile for a week and it is getting worse. When he eats, he is unable to hold it down for very long. He is 10 years old. I took him to the vet today, he got some fluids and had some blood work done. They think it might be his kidney. Any help would be helpful.

I have a friend at work whose cat has been eating insulation from the ceilings of her home for "months" according to her. She says when she defecates there is blood in the stool. As a cat owner I know this is a bad sign, and I'm not sure how much this person cares or realizes what a serious and costly problem this is. I live too far away to help. Why do cats do this? How can I make my friend realize this is a serious problem and the cat should see a vet immediately? Please only serious answers.

My kitty, 5 year old, will be moving to a new house this week and we are adopting a 2 year old doggy this weekend. Kitty has never lived with a doggy and she is already distressed about the move and I fear that it's too much for her. Thoughts?

Four months ago I adopted a male oriental flamepoint kitten from the animal shelter, he is 7 months old now. I have a female 5 year old cat that I adopted 3 years ago as a stray. She is extremely sweet. My 7 mo old kitten attacks my 5 yr old cat all the time and bites and scratches her. I'm afraid what would happen if I didn't intervene. So I keep them separate if I'm not home. Someone said I'm going to have to let them "fight" it out to see who ends up the dominant one, but I'm afraid one will get injured. Any suggestions?

There is so much in the market, including organic food for pets, but for people "like me" cant afford organic,,, there is some food that can still be good for your dogs and cats.. I would like to hear from all of you, share with me how you feed your dog and what type of food, and if your pet is healthy...thanks, my case for example I have a one year old pug, the vet told me to feed her 3/4 of a cup of dry food, that is all!!!! but he told me due to the fact that pugs tend to over eat aaaaaaand gain weight easily, to just feed her once a day, that much... for my cat I give him wet food and dry, Iams, he is doing fine so far. thansk, I will be waiting for your answers, chau

Okay, shes a half white persion, quarter tabby and quarter siamese, shes gorgeous, shes so soft, longhaired and extremely cute. She's all I've ever wanted and I love her to bits she really cannot get another owner who treats her as good. She is 6 yearas old and still to this day 'only when she feels like it' will she come to me or request a hug. Only on 'her' Conditions. She is a tough one, and I do all I can to try talk to her, narrow my eyes and wink at her (apparently that tells them that you love them) shes like my baby. My first cat lived until she was 20, and she loved me to pieces...I miss her but I give just as much love to Tia (the pain) but she just doesn't want to know. Never has. It has nothing to do with my first cat - I believe it could be the tendancy of a pedigree? She is gorgeous and all you want to do is eat her. But, no can do. She is scratchy, nasty and just wouldn't think a beautiful softy kitty could be so cruel. Any ideas how I can tame her? Many Thanks

I love my cats character and her behavior.
She is getting very old.
What do i need to do to clone her in the future? , IF such a thing be permitted sometime during my life time.
Do i need a blood sample? Dna sample? what would i need?
I am not crazy i just love her. She is the reason why i love switched from loving dogs to loving cats more.

I asked a question about putting my 13 year old cat to sleep. He has a kidney disease and an abscess tooth they need to take out. Well the next day they call me and said his kidney counts were down that they wanted to keep him another day on fluids. I said yes but i wanted to see him. Well they couldn’t get him to eat but when i came he ate for me, so they called me the next morning and told me that they though he would do better at home. I took him and he had an appointment the next day. I took him and his counts were up. They told me they are going to keep him for four days on fluids and see what happens from there. I have decided that if his counts don’t go down than i am going to go a head and tell them to do the surgery and try and take the tooth out and well go from there if he lives through it than i am going to do what it takes to try and help him i will not put him under unless i feel he is in a lot of pain and cant be help(so he don’t have to suffer)

I have a 16 year old half persian female cat. Her sight has deteriorated suddenly. She has been bumping into things, not able to jump onto bed on the first time, needs two attempts to get it right. (although lately she seems to have adapted). She has been living indoor and outdoor in the garden nearly all her life. Above all this I was forced to move to an apartment during this period. Now she is in a very unfamiliar surrounding. She walked around the house for 4 days nonstop, as if trying to learn the house.
she has been eating dry cat food all her life. she never fancied food off of the table. this past year she had some though, mostly chicken and fish.
Otherwise she seems to be fine, She doesnt cry, or doesnt seem to be in any sort of pain.
i have been trying to be more audible with her so she knows i am around.
What might be the cause for her sight loss? And is there anyway of reversing eyesight loss or deterioration in cats?
Thank you all in advance.
