Okay, shes a half white persion, quarter tabby and quarter siamese, shes gorgeous, shes so soft, longhaired and extremely cute. She's all I've ever wanted and I love her to bits she really cannot get another owner who treats her as good. She is 6 yearas old and still to this day 'only when she feels like it' will she come to me or request a hug. Only on 'her' Conditions. She is a tough one, and I do all I can to try talk to her, narrow my eyes and wink at her (apparently that tells them that you love them) shes like my baby. My first cat lived until she was 20, and she loved me to pieces...I miss her but I give just as much love to Tia (the pain) but she just doesn't want to know. Never has. It has nothing to do with my first cat - I believe it could be the tendancy of a pedigree? She is gorgeous and all you want to do is eat her. But, no can do. She is scratchy, nasty and just wouldn't think a beautiful softy kitty could be so cruel. Any ideas how I can tame her? Many Thanks

If you have not had this cat for a long time, it will take a while for her to get used to you. If you have had this cat for a while, make sure you are treating her correctly, picking her up gently and carefully, feeding her good food, and making sure she has lots of toys. If cats do not practice their natural hunting instincts with cat toys, they are likely to scratch and bite their owners instead.

I have 6 Persian cats. Most persians are sweet by nature, but you always have that one that has an attitude. PATIENCE is the best treatment. NEVER yell at her, that will just scare her away more.
Talk to her in a calm soothing voice. You can also softly sing to her. Try to keep the noise level down when you are around her. Loud noise and lots of commotion why you are trying to help her will only set you back further. Slowly pet her when you are near. Don't "overpet" her, start with 20-30 seconds at a time and work your way to more as weeks go by.
Give her some time and love (but dont overwelm her with hugs and pettings). Try playing with her; my cats LOVE those lazer pens. Also give her a dose of catnip. My cats roll in it and eat the catnip. They run around and heave fun but then go into a calm state afterwards.

The fact that she s 6 years old will make it hader to get her to change her ways, yes much is dependent on her pedigree. Be sure when she is scratchy etc. that you tell her no, a squirt of water is also a deterrant. Patience is the hardest, at best you may get her to tolerate you holding her. I have trained cats to be held and when I was ready to let them go I would release them and tell them to leave, verses letting them go when they are ready, this can take a long time but often when you tell them to go then they stay (after all it's your idea not theirs) It's like reverse psychology. Lots of patience and consistency, be sure that she associates things as treats, brushing (if she likes that) etc. to being with you and near you. Praise her and dote on her. Each cat is so unique in their personality and there is no guarantee anything will work but we love them just the same They are our babies after all. I hope you make some progress

Since she is part siamese, she will naturally be a little uppity. It's thier nature. I would recommend a good toy laced with lots of catnip. If that doesn't work, you may just have to accept that she prefers to be admired and loved at a distance. Some cats are touchy just like people. They all have thier own space limits and will let you know if youre to close. good luck.

the best way is to spend alot of time with her and if she scratches you or hurts you then you have to say no really loud and it shocks her and she wont do it again or have you tried putting paster in a bottle and shaking it when she does something wrong or even putting her away from you for a bit she will soon learn that you are the boss and start to behave these rules have worked with me many times before as i have got 2 persians and have had many in the past gud luck hope it goes well

Sad to say cats have minds of there own, ive had a cat for 6 years now and he will only come to me, and no one else in teh house can pet him unless he goes to you. cats are just very independent and you just have to let it be

Unfortunally you neeeeever gonna know what you will get, I love cats, but l have learned they are very picky who to love, I would love to sleep with him in my bed, I am talking about my 9 month kitten "Lucky" I rescued him from Animal Control and I was very very lucky, that is why the name, he is a sweety, but I learned to recieve his love when he wants to show it, there's nothing else I can do, when he comes to me I am totally his and I stop whatever I am doing, we humans have to respect their instincts, what else can I say, you can try to play with her, they love strings and yarn balls, you can caress her head, specially when they knead, give her treats, but just love her the way she is, another cat maybe???!!! but again, you never know what you gonna get.
