My cat has been throwing up Bright Yellow Bile for a week and it is getting worse. When he eats, he is unable to hold it down for very long. He is 10 years old. I took him to the vet today, he got some fluids and had some blood work done. They think it might be his kidney. Any help would be helpful.

You will have to wait for the results from the blood work. Unfortunately, kidney disease is very common in cats, since the often don't drink enough.Try feeding him only wet food, and try adding some extra water. Also make sure he has plenty of fresh water available.

Other than that, go by what the vet says.

Did they do x-rays to check for an obstruction? If not, you might wnat to discuss that with them.

OK, MY CAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT IT WAS, IS WHEN THEY EAT- THEY OVER EAT. MY CAT EVERYTIME I FED HIM WOULD EAT SO FAST A FEW MINUTES LATER WE WAS THROWING UP. MY SOLUTION WAS TO FEED MY 2 CATS IN SEPERATE ROOMS, AND ONLY FEED HIM WHAT THE BAG SAYS- ABOUT HALF A CUP OF FOOD, AND THEN A FEW HOURS LATER- ANOTHER HALF OF CUP, AND AFTER ABOUT 2 DAYS HE WILL ALLREADY KNOW WHEN ITS FOOD TIME AND WILL MEOW FOR FOOD. IF THIS IS YOUR SAME PROBLEM, ITS A VERY SIMPLE THING TO SOLVE! I HOPE ITS NOT HIS KIDNEYS, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR CAT.

OH YEA, I FOUND THE BEST FOOD FOR THIS IS PURINA 1 SENSITIVE SYSTEMS CAT FOOD.

Make sure your vet considers the following:

Hyperthyroidism: can make kitties very nauseous, can be treated with medication

Lymphoma: can also make kitties nauseous, the alimentary kind attacks the digestive system. Radiation/ chemotherapy possible treatment

Good luck to you, my heart goes out to you and your kitty. I hope this helps. :)
