I'm fascinated by these cats, apart from the creepiness of genetic engineering in general ("lifestyle pet"? sheesh). Check out Allerca, not sure how long the wait would be, at least 7 to 9 MONTHS, I know that.
The bigger issue: COST! You're looking at around $5000.
(but the breed traits at Allerca are truly adorable)

update: just learned that Allerca cats are selectively bred from "GD" parents, which is Genetic Divergences, so NOT genetically engineered. exactly.

According to my allergist, there isn't truly a hypo-allergenic animal. Allergies are composed of the entire make-up of the animal and you still may have some allergic (although not as severe) reactions. Be careful.

you know,Id like to know that tooI Im so allergic to cats its not funny, but if I had one of those kitty cats i wouldnt suffer, although ive heard that there is no such thing as a non allergenic cat. what gives a person allergies to cats is their saliva, they lick themselves and the dander flies all over the place.
