Do cats remember places and animals in their past?

Question

I want to take my cat away with me for a weekend to my parent's place in the country. They originally found her there as a stray and she lived there for 3 months before coming to live with me. I've had her for 3 months at my house. Will she remember their house and be ok? Will she remember their dog (they became good friends)? Or will it be stressful and confusing for her? She won't be allowed outside. Thanks

I think the dog will remember her...he has always LOVED cats and is always trying to befriend them and he's shocked when they don't love him back. When she left he would go around the house looking for her. But because he is a large and excitable boxer I will keep them separated by a screen door to be safe. I'm more worried that the cat may hurt the dog than the other way around.

I think she'll be fine. We left our cats at my moms (where they originally lived) for a week, and they were perfectly fine. One remembered where the porch door was and slept with my mom the first night we were there, and he remembered the sound of the window opening, and went running to lay on the sill. The other one remembered that the could get treats if he sat on top of the fridge.
So your kitty will be fine. It may take a few minutes for the two animals to get acquainted, but they'll be fast friends soon, I'm sure.

i think she'll remember, although she still may be confused. i had a cat for years that i had to give to a friend when i had a baby. i got her back 4 years later and she remembered the dog, the house...right down to where she used to sleep. i wouldn't let her outside, but i think she'll be fine. now let's see if the dog remembers her... haha

I think she will remember them. I got my cat from my cuz and when I went on a trip my cat remembered her no problem and she rememvered the dogs two. She'll be ok.

she might be, cats unlike dogs can take care of them self for a little while. and she might be familar with it. she has to learned to geting used to new things.
