hi well scruff the stray has been to the vets he has a few bald patchs, he has been very well combed so he has no more matted fur and looks lovely, he also feels a lot better, he has been washing tonight first time ive seen him wash since he started moving himself in, to get to the point i want him to stay nice and matt free, my cats have a flea comb and an ordinary cat brush, his fur is long and thick what would you recomend to keep his coat in the best condition.

he is not used to being brushed, so i want to make it part of his daily rountine.

The Furminator is amazing and does a great job keeping mats out of my Persian mix. You can get them on eBay for much cheaper than the stores. If you don't want to go that route, I would suggest a slicker brush. It has wire prongs that are close together and has several rows. That's what I used until I got my Furminator.

I use a metal comb on my long haired cat,she gets matted as her hair is very fine.I tease out matts with my hands before combing and if they are quite bad I cut them off so as not to hurt her.She doesn't like getting combed and can scratch badly if she's not in the mood.As your cat enjoys getting groomed you could use a wire brush as well.

I actually use a horses curry comb on 2 of my cats - they love it. the teeth on the curry comb are rounder and gentler than on some cat combs so its like a massage for the cats as well as grooming

Usually, that is too long for me. I consider it depends on the guy as well as his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

I have pretty very long hair, I like them but I actually think I would have them reduce short in about some two yrs

wire brush is best for long-haired cats.

double sided....Long nilon bristles one side with metal bristles on other side.. works a treat for all tangles and tangle free fur..
