*sobbing* ok my cat is an outdoor cat and if u live in new york in a certain area which i'm not telling u there was recently 2 snow storms (and just to give u a hint it's not upper state new york!) and since the first one.....the last tiem i saw my cat was b4 that snow storm hit.......and the reason y i'm sobbing is because..........my cat has been missing since b4 that first snow storm hit.....*more crying* i miss her i don't no wat to do i have went to the animal shelters and no one has taken in a white cat so she's nto there plus i put lost signs all around town. i have been crying myself to sleep every night since she disappeared. and i was just thinking last night that she might of went off to die. the same thing with my otehr cat, leo, happened he was so old he went off to die. some cats do that for some reason. my cat had a kidney problem i'm not sure if it was bad though...*more crys*....i'm just really upset that she might of died during the snow storm or the kidney problem..

Don't give up yet. I went through something similar last fall, and while I was never able to find my own kitty, I have some advice for hopefully helping you find yours.
First of all, a white cat is distinctive. She should be easy to spot. She may have become disoriented in the snow and lost her way; snow tends to mask familiar smells.
It's possible someone has taken her in. Please make a poster with a photo of her and place it at the shelters, vet's offices, and local grocery stores, party stores, etc. (The word "Reward" on your poster gets peoples' attention too.) My local post office even allowed me to place one there.
And try an ad in the Lost and Found of the classifieds. It's somewhat costly, but your kitty may have wandered off a ways, and a newspaper may reach out of your immediate area.
Try calling her (loudly!) at both dawn and dusk, when cats are most active. Turn in every direction and call her name. And place a bowl of her favorite food outdoors in a sheltered area; if he's around, she may be attracted to it.
Best of luck to you Hon. I sure hope you find her as I know what you are going through and it's terrible. Please let us know if you do.

I'm sorry for your sorrow. I hope your cat comes home safe and healthy. But let this be a lesson to you. Cats should be kept indoors unless they are outdoors and attended by you or someone else so they don't get away/ in a fenced area. Also, if your cat is ill get it medical attention.
I get so tired of people on here crying about how much they love their animal but they won't take it to a vet when it's ill and they don't get them vaccinated. If you want to own an animal, be responsible and be sure you have the money to take care of them, otherwise, get your animal fix by volunteering at shelters or vet clinics.
Not only that, most white cats should not be out due to the risk of them getting skin cancer and also most white cats are deaf and cannot hear a car coming or anything else that may be a danger to them.
Keep going to the animal shelters, put up flyers, go door to door around your neighborhood, ask if they saw her or to keep an eye out for her, leave your name and phone # with your neighbors so they can call you so you can get her, not them, she's more likely to come to you. She may be holed up somewhere until the weather breaks and then decide it's safe to go home. You should keep going out and looking and calling for her, take a carrier and a can of food and a towel to wrap her in, she may be scared and the towel will prevent you from being scratched or bitten.
I hope your cat comes home safe and sound but let this be a lesson to you.
Good Luck

If you live in the city or suburbs, most likely, someone else has taken in your cat. Cats often run away if someone else begins feeding them. If the weather is bad, they would likely keep the cat indoors.
More times then not, a cat will crawl under a bed or in a dark corner of a closet to die rather then go somewhere unfamiliar.
Cats can survive a long time in the outdoors. They can get into tiny sheltered places and live on minimal food and water.
Cats should be kept indoors. There are too many dangers in today's world for them to be roaming the streets. (dogs, diseases, cars - the list goes on and on).

try not to worry, i had a young cat (not quite fully filled out) once that disappeared for 4 months!! i had given up on him and gotten another cat, that very same week this large adult cat showed up, meowing and pawing at the door as if he lived there. i took a closer look at him and noticed he hat the same crooked tail & was the same color as the youngster that ran off months prior! he had obiously found somene to feed him while he was away as he was quite plump! so think positive, your kitty may be waiting out the storms safe & sound somewhere. when the storm hit he may have found someone to give him shelter and could be waiting for the opportune moment to slip out & come home.

There are lots of really great folks around who may have found her during the first storm and taken her in, thinking she was a stray. They would have called the local shelters and groups to find out if anyone was missing a cat.
So...dry your eyes, blow your nose and keep looking! She's your baby. And for the love of God, please don't let her out again. Cats live longer indoors.
Good luck and all the best.

Think positive. Cats need to die sometime or else the world would be overpopulated with the things. You should just forget about it and get a new cat. People give away kittens all the time in the country.

Hi, Oh you poor little angel, my heart goes out to you. Cat's are very resilient and you never know she might have found somewhere safe, she knows you love her. There is every chance she may turn up safe and well. Try not to get too upset i know this is a hard thing to do because i have lost cat's. Even though you are in N.Y. and i am in England i am thinking of you and praying for you and your little kitty.

sometimes our animals know us better than we think, or maybe they love us just like we do them. so if your cat went off to die maybe she did it b/c she didn't want you to see her in that state. or maybe (i have my fingers crossed for you) she got taken in by someone b/c they knew the storm was coming and thought that she might not have a home, so she is just waiting to come home to you. it sounds like you care about her very much and i think she knows this so don't worry and keep your chin up i know it's hard my cat momma she punishes me if another pet comes into the home for whatever reason (i have a big heart for animals so sick or homeless they come to me till they are better) she disappears everytime for atleast 2 days and i am in tears. but like your cat she has been outside and i know she can fend for herself if needed (she brings home presents regularly) and your cat can too i think she is just waiting to come home. i wish you luck!
