Why is it that so many here complain about other cats in their yards but yet say that their own cat is outside? Don't they realize that their cat is probably doing the same thing to others?

Apart from the obvious vet's visit, (planned for this weekend), anybody have any experience with this? Or ideas about what might be wrong? OR just any sensible advice? Thanks!

I got her front claws declawed because I didnt want her to scratch everything. About 2 1/2 yrs ago, my bf brought home a male cat. Rudy is about the same age as Freya, but much larger, & has front claws. We kept Rudy in a separate room for a few months, & slowly tried to introduce them. They would just freak out & run & hide. Rudy hated being alone & would scratch endlessly at the bottom of the door, since we rent, we couldn't let him ruin the door.
After a few months we just let him out hoping they would work it out. Well at first they would totally avoid each other, accept for the occasional hiss as they passed each other. After a couple moves to new places cause of rl stuff, they fight physically now. Freya will lay on the floor on her back & Rudy will walk by, Freya hisses, that gets Rudy going. He chases her around & will pin her down until she whips free. Another thing, Freya will sniff Rudys bum but when he trys to sniff hers she hisses like mad. Any help would be appreciated.

How many allow their cats on the kitchen counter?

I gave up this fight years ago, and depend on 409 to stand between my family and certain death by cat-borne infection.

Besides, my cats demand access to countertop real estate as if it were a Constitutional right. Just TRY telling them otherwise.

P.S. The cats have no access to the stove.

My male kitten, named "Hunter" is no Hunter at all. He will actually take a dead mouse from his sister and try to pass it off as his own kill. Last night after terrorizing the household, and climbing on dressers, shelves, etc, I turned on the light and he was on the rug in a "predator's posture", with his "kill" - a 4 inch plastic lizard.

We have two cats. Both are indoors 100% of the time. Thus, they are not exposed to other animals. I feel like it's probably got a cold and the eye will clear up over time. Or, maybe it wrestled the other cat and got it scratched. The only thing with that is they are declawed and there are no signs of a scratch per se. I'm apprehensive of taking him to the vet unless it might be something bad. I know that sounds wierd, but since they don't ever leave the house, they are pretty safe from other stuff they could very likely get at the vet, i.e. fleas or some infectious disease. Just looking for feedback to help me decide what to do. Thanks.

My cat had kittens about 2 hours ago.

She doesn't seem to be bonding with all of her babies. She carried one away and looked like she was taking care of it...however she left the other three on their own. I really didn't want to move her or the kittens, because I know they need to bond...but I want her to bond and care for all four of them. So after waiting for ages, for her to go back to the others, I ended up putting them all together.

I'm really scared at the moment to turn my back on her with them as she seems to be biting them - and not in a nice way. (More like wanting to eat them!) Is this normal? Am I just being paranoid? Should I just leave her and see what happens? I'm totally clueless! PLEASE HELP!!!

how much do they normaly cost for a kitten or a cat?

The other day the vet gave my kitten a pill for tape worm. He was kind of lethargic for like an hour but then he's basicly normal after that. Problem is, he has been drinking much more than usual for the past 2 days. He looks healthy, though. He plays, eats, and sleep like he normally did before the medication. Just the water drinking gets me worried.

Could he be diabetic? How do I get urine sample for the vet? Or how can I make him pee in a bottle or plastic to get sample? Right now he's kind of hating the vet for taking his temperature, so I'd like to send the vet urine sample instead of bringing him there. I will take him back to the vet asap if they found something in his urine.

I have a five month old kitten that I adopted from the Humane Society. She is constantly doing strange things that my other cats have never done. The first is she'll be laying around the house all normal and suddenly she will run to the nearest wall and jump up as high as she can. I've looked to see if maybe she sees bugs or something there but nothing is ever on the wall not even a shadow. Other times her pupils get dialated and she runs around the house sideways with her fur all poofy. I can't find a reason for this behavior either. She has been living with us for two months now and she probably knows our schedules, I just don't know what freaks her out. I had heard that tortoiseshell tabby's are neurotic but I didn't really believe. She's banged her head a bunch of times on tables, walls, sliding glass window, my legs and other things. Why does she act like this?

Ok, someone dumped cats outside our house.

We decided to keep them...

Anyway, one of them follows me around the house & is very nice.

We also have another, she is 2 months younger & female. She doesn't sit on your lap for pats & will run away, though, when my door is shut she will lay next to me on my bed and meow for pats.

So do you think she will stop doing this anytime soon, like when she gets older?

I just don't want her to be to shy...

thansks

My cats have a wierd thing they do. At first it was only my oldest cat. She puts her little mice toys in the water. Mostly at night, but sometimes during the day. Within the last few months though, my younger cat has started doing it too. The toys aren't dirty, I've even washed them to be sure. Its not really a problem, but something really wierd I've never had cats do. I don't think she learned it anywhere else since I've had her since she was really done. Any real thoughts on what causes this?

My cat Precious he died November 2005 while we were on a two week cruise. A neighbor was taking care of him. He was found dead on 11/9/05. He was giving my neighbor signs about about not wanting her to leave and she cannot read cat language. He was fixed when he was 6 months. We did not have the money for them to see what he died of. He just turned 5 11/2/06. Is it common for male cats to have UTI?
