maybe you need to give it a litter box first and then show her outside later.. if you want it to poop somewhere just put its poop where you want it to go. it worked for my 2 kittens and a bunny.
you still have to show them where to poop though until they figure it out. it took one of my kittys 2 weeks to get 100% acuracy of where to poop...good luck.

Helo,

I'm assuming your kitten is using a litter tray in the living room - rather than just going on the floor. If that is the case, just move the litter tray a little closer to the door each day, in a few weeks you should be able to put the litter tray outside the door and then remove it completely.

Make sure you do this gradually though, moving it too far, too quickly may confuse your kitten - if it gets confused, you may find it goes on the floor where the tray used to be.

It's worth considering the age of your kitten. You may want to restrict him to your home & garden for a while until it's old enough to learn the laws of the street.

Have a think about where your kitten can make its toilet outside. If there isn't a quiet area in your garden, it will go in someone elses - and not everyone appreciates other peoples cats going in their flower beds.

All the best.x

Do you have a litter box with unscented cat litter? Try the arm and hammer scent free or the Tidy cat, the new Tidy cat that says Tidy Lock on the front right corner as you are looking at the container. This does not have a harsh scent to it either. Sometimes they don't like the smell of their litter and will poop on the floor instead. So try this first before sending it out into the elements, really should not let the out. Carry kitty to its litter box often and it will take to it really good. keep the box clean or it will go somewhere else, cats don't like a dirty box. Also, don't show your temper and hurt kitty because it will think going to the bathroom is bad and will refuse to go into the litter box thinking it will get into trouble. Pet it as you carry it to the box. i will say that most cats prefer to have one litter tray to pee in and one to poop in. Never throw the cat into the box in a fit of anger. Wash the carpet or area that it did it in with vinegar and water and the proper shampoo. Keep the bedroom doors shut until this problem is gone. Just to make sure it don't use the bed!
