I adopted a cat from a shelter a while ago. She wasn't very social and absolutely hated the dog, but I hoped her shyness would keep her indoors. Unfortunately it didn't and she went out the doggy door and never came back. I'd like to try again, but I'm afraid the same thing will happen all over.

Suggestons? (Sincere, please)

My kitten is teething at the moment and chews on everything. Are there any kind of chew toys that he can have and where would I look for them?

hi, i have a question. i was playing "twirly cats" with my two cats mittens and mr. snickers tonight, and it's so funny. they run all crooked and bump into things and there eyes go round and round! but i was wondering, if i play this game to much with them, might they throw up on me or something else? i don't want them making a mess, but we love this game. maybe put a sheet down first?

p.s., i do make sure to spin them in opposite directions each time to keep them evened out.

Best thing to do folks is just ignore his questions.
If he gets no replys he will run away with (ahem) his tail between his legs.

1 female alone for a while, took in another female later, then a stray male. They seem to compete for territory by spraying. Any help would be appreciated. Have tried vinegar, moth balls. No help.

She is female and around 17 years old (human years). She will just bend over and spray a liquid. I thought this was a male thing? She is also fixed (spayed), and there is three other female cats in our home besides her. I think it might be urine. Do cats sometimes urinate that way? Also, my son has claimed he saw one of the other cats do the same. (They are all spayed!)

My mother received a bouquet of flowers including lillies today for her retirement. We have put them high up on the mantlepiece where our cat cannot possibly reach them. Is this safe?

My cat absolutely freaks out when she smells valerian root or valerian scented cat toys, much more than even catnip. I've never seen anything like it. Does anybody else's cat freak out with valerian?

For cats, should I feed them 2-3 small meals a day or let them have free choice. They have had free choice all their lives and are slightly overweight, but onyl by a pound or 2, they get quite a bit of exersize

We are fostering four kitttens. They are 2 months old and love to explore. The smallest one somehow wandered upstairs. When I went up to get her she ran from me and jumped right off the ledge, landed face first on the next floor down, then tumbled down the rest of the stairs! She seems to be ok though. I felt her body and her bones feel fine. She is walking and not meowing or anything. She is currently sleeping with her siblings. We are taking the kittens in for their shots on saturday and cant get to the vet before then. What should I do?

I now have two indoor, neutered male cats. Hershey is 7yrs old and is 18 pounds. He is not "fat," just a big cat. I had him declawed at 6 months old.

Tucker was rescued as a stray about a month ago. He is smaller, about 8 pounds, and 1 year old. They have been segregated and "playing" through the door for awhile. I take Tucker to the vet next week to get worm-free clearance, then I plan on letting the two cats meet.

Knowing what I know now about declawing, if I had to do it over, Hershey would still have his front claws. I do not want to declaw Tucker. He does not scratch furniture so far and does not use his claws when being held. My fear, however, is that Tucker might hurt Hershey. Will age and the weight difference make up for the lack of front claws on Hershey? I'm curious if anyone has two or more cats in a similar situation, and what your experience has been. Thanks.

Ever since we brought him home from a kitten he's gone out and come back cut up. HWe used to think he was getting stuck in the hole in the bramble hedge and tearing his skin that way but he is doing it to himself. He has ripped open a 3" flap of skin on his shoulder, his back and he has to constantly wear a bucket/cone so he can't rip open behind his ears.
The vet gave us some anti itch cream but it doesn't seem to help.

He obviously has an allergy to something but its not fleas, worms or tics. We did notice more [if thats possible] scratching after he had some wet food so there must be something in the gravy so he is on dry, sensitive cat food.

Poor thing isn't allowed out til he stops cutting. He's 2 this year and hasn't been out of the bucket/cone since he was less than a year!
