You don't give out much information about the cat. First of all, is the cat indoor or outdoor or both or roomed with another cat? The reason why this is asked is b/c it could have got into a fight. Another is it could have found something to scrape it's head on. It could be hot spots or some kind of skin disease. If you don't know what it is and are really worried about your cat then I would call your local vet. If not then just keep a close eye on your kitty for a few weeks to make sure your cat is ok and that more hair doesn't go missing. Good luck!

Has she been to the vet recently? Have you or her veterinarian applied a flea or other medication recently that she may be allergic to?

Any other kitties around who may be scratching her? Or, is she scratching against something that could be causing her loss of fur?

Just some ideas. Would probably be a good idea to call the vet, and, if it does not clear up, take her to the vet.

I am a real cat lover. :-) Get back with us if you don't get a good answer.

Good luck.

well i know my best friends cat had a patch of fur missing so she took her to the vet. I think she had some sort of infection....so you might want to get her checked out. The cat is fine now the hair grew back afterwards.....

Not a typical answer especially when it is answered with a question. But, does your kitty an indoor or outdoor pet? If she is an indoor pet she may have been curious about a space and might have gotten stuck.

tooteebug, the same happened to both our ferret&cat. One day when it was very quite ,heard a strange noise and saw the ferret come out from behind the refrigerator it was the fan blade under the frige which cause the missing hair.Cats& other animals have a tendency to crawl in the darnest places, maybe consider your cat having done something similar.

How old is your cat? Has it been ill lately? Does it go outside?

Things to consider,, out door cat getting in a fight or injured. Possibility of parasites on the skin.

Diabetes in cats causes hair thinning and bald spots.

You aren't giving alot of detail. Is it red or flaky? I am asking for reasons like ezema or hot spots. Has your kitty been stressed out lately? Or did is just dissapear? If it suddenly disappeared perhaps she got her hair caught in something.

My cat is allergic to flea bites. If he gets one, he goes bald in that spot. I make sure he stays indoors and gets his flea treatments. It could be something simple like that, but it could be something more serious (as others have already stated). Best to check with a vet to be sure.

Is she an outdoor cat? She may have gotten into a fight. She may also be sick or under stress, which can sometimes cause cats to lose their fur.

She might have gotten into a fight. If she lives inside it might be she rubbed it against something. If it doesn't grow back, or gets worse, take her to the vet.
