Actually I know people who have done it repeatedly to a cat, and it is fine as far as I know. I guess they just get more friendly than usually is what I heard. So no, it probably won't drop over dead. I'm not saying its a good thing, but yes they can get high and no they won't die (most likely).

cats can and will die from inhaling pot smoke and yes they will "get high". it's not funny.
