My kitten likes to chew on it, he found it from the garbage can in the bathroom. If it's safe, I would let him chew fresh one while I'm holding both end of the string. I'm just wondering if the mint or any flavor from the floss is harmful for feline, I'm already aware that kitten playing with any kind of strings should be under human supervision.

I love my cat and have had her for the longest but there's one problem. she's very affectionate to me and sometimes too affectionate. She loves to be petted and scratched and i would love her to sleep in my room cause she always scratches at my door to get in but all night long she comes up to my face and rubs against me when i'm trying to sleep. she'll even give me those little love bites all night to the point where i have to kick her out the room. i love her and i want her to be able to sleep with me but she's so weird. its this normal? and would i be able to break the habit?

My cat just swallowed a rubber band. She thought it's a food, so she pounced and ate it before I could grab her. It has been 3 hours now and she seems normal. Will she be alright? I am thinking to take her to the VET tomorrow morning. I'm so worried about her now.

She also already pooped, but I don't see any rubber band in it. :(

I have had my kitten for about 5 weeks now, she is a five month old spayed female, is current on her vaccines, and negative for Feline Leukemia. About a week ago she developed a sore on her neck where the hair fell off and exposed a scab. My vetrinarian thought it was from another cat biting her, but she has not been around any other cats since i have had her. She prescribed tritop twice a day. The scab fell off about a day later, and exposed raw skin. I took her back to the vet who thinks it is some sort of skin disorder but didnt tell me what. She gave her a steroid shot of some kind, and said for me to bring her back in 4 days. Tommorow is her appointment for recheck, and I have found another area develop just above the original spot. I can see redness and I feel a lump. Has anyone any idea what this might be? (also, her ringworm test wont be conclusive for ten days, but its been 4 days and there has been no growth so far)

I bought a lazer mouse. Since it's cold, snow is on the ground, I want my cats to stay inside until the temperature gets a bit warmer. The cats both tried to humor me a bit by playing with it a little, but by the end of the day they both looked at the mouse in my hand and then looked at me as if to say "I know it's really you moving that mouse around."

So my mom has always had cats, and I have always loved having them around. I moved into my bf's place about 6 months ago and he has agreed to let me get a cat of my own, even though he still has his doubts about cats (He has never had pets before). My bf has already expressed that he wouldn't want the cat in our bedroom or in the office. Based on that I have three questions: 1) Should I adopt a younger cat or kitten so I can "mold" them, or would an older cat be better? 2) Should my bf really worry about cats destroying his computers? He said he wouldnt want them chewing on wires, but I thought that was a canine habit. And 3) What other helpful tip do you guys have for owning and taking care of a cat?

i moved recently into a house with a lot of plants. she got sick twice since we've been here and it seems to be plants because there is nothing else here that would harm her. to be specific, are there any cacti that are bad and are poinsettias bad?

My cat has been sitting in one particular area, almost the exact same spot by the inch, over the last 3-5 days. He hasn't peed, he's not sitting on top of anything, he's not hidden at all. Why would he suddenly be obsessed sitting in one area of the house? I don't have any other pets, and we've lived here almost a year. I've never seen him do this before!

I swear my cat thinks he's a person. He LOVES people food. Chicken, steak, pork chops, sausage and esp. yogurt and pudding are among his favorites. He's even been known to eat soup and pasta. Is this normal? My other cat will not eat people food. And just how bad is people food for cats?

together when they go out. I call them and they come from different directions. We have had all 4 of them for at least a year. They play together when they're inside but they also have occasional spats. Why is this?

He hasn't eaten anything today. He takes a few nibbles if kiblets (mixed with premium canned food) and then he has to get a drink of water and then stops eating. He just goes and plays. Does this point to something wrong? Why would he "try" to eat, then need water? I feed him MediCal development formula bought from the vet and the canned is Eagle Pack holistic. He was eating fine since I brought him home from Humane Society 4 weeks ago. He's very playful and seems happy, healthy and is growing. What could be wrong?

I recently took my cat to a local animal hospital. Patty went in on 22nd and got back home on the 24th, whenever she came home she had a small lump underneath her sutures, i thought it was normal swelling. the next day i noticed the bump had gotten bigger. on the 26th I made an appointment to take her back to the hospital and the doctor told me that it was an abnormally large bump but it was just scar tissue, and if it had gotten any larger to bring her back in. Okay! so today I look at the bump, and it is larger than before. I am going to take her back to the doctors tonight before they close, I called to make this appointment and they tell me if it is a hernia i will have to pay.

Is this actually fair? i dont believe it is because I kept her in a closed cage and I did everything to prevent this from happening.. the doctors told me to watch her and take her home, I just want to hear someone elses opinion. thanks!
