My kitten likes to chew on it, he found it from the garbage can in the bathroom. If it's safe, I would let him chew fresh one while I'm holding both end of the string. I'm just wondering if the mint or any flavor from the floss is harmful for feline, I'm already aware that kitten playing with any kind of strings should be under human supervision.

He won't play with it when we're not home. Since he found one in the bathroom waste bin we always throw away used dental floss in the kitchen garbage bin which is inside the cabinet under the sink. I don't think he's that smart to open the cabinet door.

Did some people read at all? I wrote "under supervision". I would know if he eats it or not.

I don't think anything on the floss could hurt them, but just be careful because it is really dangerous if they swallow a string, I would think because of the strength of dental floss compared to a string, it would be even more dangerous.

I would say don't. Do not risk a high vet bill for anything even when you are supervising him, there is always a chance that he could get to it when you are not.The mint is not harmful but most cats dont like it.
BETTER FREE TOYS-
milk cap and the tie around it(some milk jugs don't have the tie part)
any plastic bottle cap
they love the crunchy sounds from playing in or with a paper bag
cardboard box(different sizes)

NO! Do NOT allow this as an acceptable play thing. This is absoultely the WORST type of foreign body if ingested. Its impossible to feel, and the intestines will play tug-of-war with it and it will saw its way thru the intestines in multiple places. Any type of string, thread, floss, tinsel, yarn, or fabric is a no no for kitties. I have seen several cats DIE from ingesting dental floss. Can't stress enough....very bad.

Well I think paln chewing is ok, unless it gets between the teeth. The have different gums. Ask your vet.

I have done alot of research and im thinking this should be ok as long as he dose not swallow any because if he swallows it , it could wrap around his intestine and major surgrey and major moneys instake !!
