Ok, someone dumped cats outside our house.

We decided to keep them...

Anyway, one of them follows me around the house & is very nice.

We also have another, she is 2 months younger & female. She doesn't sit on your lap for pats & will run away, though, when my door is shut she will lay next to me on my bed and meow for pats.

So do you think she will stop doing this anytime soon, like when she gets older?

I just don't want her to be to shy...

thansks

Laurel, what are you on about. Trade her in?

Unno, with a SHY CHILD, you can change its personality.

I just don't want it to hurt anyone....

This kitty trusts you and no one else. So?? Many are like this!!! Many kids are like this!!! Let her grow! It's just a baby, And if the cat stays shy?? So what?? If you had a shy child, would you trade it in for one more outgoing?? Animals have personality just like humans, all are different. Maybe you should get a pet rock.

Don't worry just remain patient and give them all the tender loving care you can afford. Cats have their own personalities so let her settle in first to her new surroundings.

Might want to consider getting them spayed/neutered around 2 months of age. Not sure how old they are though but sterilising your pets make them less aggressive as they won't feel the need to fight for territory and things like that.

What's wrong with being shy? Whether a person, or in this case animal, is outgoing or shy is largely dependent on personality, which features a strong genetic component.

She could be shy as you say but cats are also VERY independent. They want to do what they want when they want.
