DO NOT use ANY over the counter medication whatsoever.
You'll need to get rid of the fleas on the Mother cat also.
Get a fine toothed comb some paper towel and bowel of warm water and some dawn dishwasing liquid....my Vet told me to use the blue one.
Dip the comb into the soap solution and comb the Mother...dipping the comb back into the soap after each pass through her fur the fleas will cling to the comb and fall into the water and die..wipe the comb with the paper towel and continue doing this until you've combed her whole body...do the same with each kitten...make sure you dry the kittens off very well so the don't get cold.
You'll also need to wash the cats bedding and vacuum...make sure to throw the vacuum bag way...the fleas will live in it and the next to you use the vacuum there's a chance you could reinfest the carpet.
Good luck.

You can get a flea comb at a pet store or even wal-mart. You will have to have a bowl of 1/2 Alcohol and 1/2 water to put the fleas and eggs you might get into - water alone won't work. Change the bedding and don't put any of them into the new spot until you comb them. Do the mom first and then the kittens. Do this about once a week for about a month and the problem should be gone. Good Luck

I'd suggest getting the fleas off of Momma cat first, then put a diluted amount (to weaken the strength of the shampoo) of cat flea shampoo on a washcloth and gently wiping each kitten. Make sure you wipe them down with a clean cloth afterwards because mom will be licking them too-- I'm not sure if flea shampoo is toxic, but I imagine it shouldn't be. And also make sure to dry them thoroughly. This will be safer than submerging the newborn kittens in a bath. Be sure to check the bedding area and make sure it isn't infested with fleas.

Alcohol on a cotton ball and daub each flea individually. You really should have had this problem in control before the kittens were born with a simple application of Advantage to the mother cat.

you should NOT give the momma cat flea medication while she is nursing. if she is well past the days of nursing it is okay. make sure the momma cat is at least 12 months old and use frontline plus. its the ONLY one that will kill all the fleas, eggs and ticks. advantage kill 95% of only fleas. heartz kill cats DO NOT USE HARTZ zodia kills 50%. id go with frontline plus for the adult. as for the kitties- give them a nice warm bath and use dawn dish soap to wash them and rinse well. it will kill the fleas and keep em off for about two weeks. its safe enough for their skin. this is the only thing that will work and is safe for the cats. flea shampoo is toxic for cats under the age of 8-12 months!! do NOT use anything walmart sells. the active ingrediant is proven to not kill the fleas and all their stuff will cause seizures in cats. www.hartzvictims.org
