Cats - January 2007

We have a female cat named Jewel that adopted us...she came out of no where by literally showing up on our front door step, but did have some tameness about her so she wasn't completely wild.
Jewel does the funniest thing when she is sleeping hard, which is snoring! I've had cats most of my adult life and never heard of that before.

Anyone out there with a simular story? And should I be concerned?

This is about my male cat Tiger who is 3 years old. We got him from the pound when he was about 4 months old. He is the most sweet laid back cat I met in years but lately he has been throwing up partially chewed up food? I look at it when I pick it up and do not see any hair balls in it, or other debris for that matter.
He doesn't eat moist cat food, his dry cat food is the same as always and he is a indoor cat. Sometimes I catch him drinking out of the toilet thanks to my kids leaving the lid up, but have been shutting the bathroom doors so the baby doesn't go in and play around.

Tiger seems normal and I have no clue what is making him puke? He has a doctors appointment on February 3rd and any suggestions to what may be causing this would be great to know beforehand...Thank you. :)

I have heard that the typical unfixed cat can produce
450 000, offspring in under seven years. If this is true, shouldn't a law be passed so that only certified breeders are aloud unfixed cats? other wise the cat has to be fixed on purchase. Don't you think it will help control the ever growing population of wild cats???

My roommate has a turtle which she usually keeps separate from my cats, knowing how curious cats can be. But today she accidentally left a door open and when we came home, the turtle was gone, and there were water splashes next to the aquarium. We searched everywhere in the house but no sign of turtle. Can cats eat turtles? It seems like an un-natural form of food for cats, with the shell and everything. But if the cat did eat the turtle, is the cat going to get sick, or catch some sort of disease?

Our 2 month old kitten loves to chew on the power cords and cables. We have tried a water sprayer to deter her, but she does it when we are not home. Is there any thing we can spray on them to deter her?

My cat and dog are my best friends, I want to turn them into little girls like me so they can go to school with me and be my friends and look after me whe people tease me. Is there a site also that sees what your cat would look like if it was a person or you would look like if you were a cat?

My 3 year old suffers from nightmares. She's had them since she was a kitten. How do I know it's a nightmare? She's growling and hissing and sometimes crying in her sleep. The events surrounding her adoption were a little traumatic - but her life has been pure bliss since. Any suggestions? (I'm researching some crystals to try - so suggestions on those would also be welcome!)

Just recently my 3 year old neutered male has been attacking my 8 month old neutered male. They've lived together for about 4 months now without any problems. He seems like he's stalking him 24/7. There is no warning of an attack, no hissing or growling. There are never any puncture wounds but slight skin abrasions around the kittens neck but alot of screaming and howling once the fight has begun. I've tried squirting with water, scruffing and actually hissing at the attacker and also time outs but nothing has worked. Most of the time they get along but there is at least 3 fights a day. I'm at a loss. My husband is fed up with it and threatening to get rid of my older cat. I would just let them fight it out but the kitten never seems to be able to get out of the hold of the older cat. Besides, it's very unnerving to hear in the middile of the night. Please help!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

She is about 4 months old and was a stray. She is very sweet and smart but an animal on the table is something I cannot abide. She has learned to get down when I tell her, but not getting up in the first place is the goal here.
