If you only got her last night, then there's nothing to worry about. If she doesn't own the place after a week - THEN worry. She needs to figure out what to be scared of and what's harmless - remember that EVERYTHING is bigger than she is. Also - if she doesn't drink anything for two days, take her straight to the Vet!! It takes only three days with no water to die of dehydration.

She is probably fine. Transitions for kitties are stressful and often they will stop eating for a little bit. I'd give her some soft food on a spoon, or even some baby food to get her going. She is awfully young so you'll want to watch to make sure she is drinking and eating in the next few days.

My mom took in a cat that ran away at every move for the first three months she had her. She is now out for her all the time and his also made a sneak appearance on holiday gatherings.

Some kitties are just shy by nature...others take the world by charge. Patience, persistence and a warm lap will get you far with her!

she will need some time to adapt let her explore the house by leaving her alone she will calm down pay close attention to her eating .Because she is so young she probably hasnt been weaned to kitten food. Go and get her looked at if in the next 24hrs she doesnt drink or eat asap!!she is so young that going without food or water could really cause some serious problems. Even if the lady brought her to the vet it wouldnt be a bad idea to go see one anyway so that the proper food and care can be given.

Start handling the little fuzz ball ASAP! Get her used to human touch otherwise she'll end up skittish forever and who wants a cat that doesn't want to be a lap cat? Kidding aside, open a can of tuna or salmon and put the liquid in a small bowl and call her by name. If she's really a cat she'll come to the bowl and drink. Works every time!

I would probaly say to contact your vet if she doesn't calm down soon, as this could become rather serious. I wouldn't worry quite yet as that might affect her making her more stressed. But for now I'd stay calm and just make sure she is comfortable and happy, then if she is still acting weird in a bit, I would DEFINITELY call your vet right away.

Try some kitty food and some water. Treat the kitten very gently. I agree with the previous ladies. Go easy, and time to adjust.

Try putting her in a room with her litter box, food & water, and some toys. Let her stay in there until she gets accustomed to the sounds of her new home and gets to know you. It can take a few days or a few weeks.

Don't worry, she's been tramatized and needs quiet calm to adjust.

Try to keep her in one room for at least 2 days so she becomes familiar with it and considers it 'home'. Give her time alone to explore and get comforable.

She's young and will do just fine:). Kittens are so much fun!!!

My kitty didn't want to eat for the first 2 days we took him home. He eats a lot now! Don't worry, your kitty will eat when he got used to the new environment.

Try getting a bottle and cat milk and feeding her that way, if that doesn't work you may want to get a syringe and force her to drink the milk. It has all the vitamins kittens need. Your local feed store or Petco should have it.
