I love my cat and everyhing it just seems silly and unnecessary and have been told different things suah as cats have enzyes to keep their teeth clean aside from their sweat. 300 bucks for a teeth cleaning is just absurd.

i don't have one - i have always wondered why every cat owner doesn't do this - - those kitty litters are the most disgusting things i've ever smelled.
i might even consider a cat if i could teach it to do that easily?

Is a cat or dog a better pet for our family? I am a stay at home mom and will be for at least another year after that I may go back to work. My daughter is 18 m/o and will be taught to be kind and respect the animal (just has she has been with my moms dogs and cats) and will never be left alone with the animal. We have a medium size back yard and lots of love to give. I realize that any animal is a huge commitment and I am taking it seriously. Which would be a better suit for my lifestyle. Any breeds be more compatiable? Personal experiences with toddlers and cats/dogs would be great. What about puppy/dog or kitten/cat? I am just worried about going back to work and leaving a dog home alone during the day I know most dogs are left alone. I would put the dog in our kitchen and puppygate it. Help!

I've had my cat since he was 4 weeks old. Just recently he started pooping in our floor. We have tried cleaning the litter box, changing the litter, scrubing the box. We have sprayed the stuff that makes them lose the sent of it so he can't go there agin. He keeps doing it. I need help, my huband is going to make me get rid of him. :(

Our next door neighbour's cat has discovered that we do not have a dog in our yard (previous owners did) and is pooing outside our laundry door. Any suggestions for making our home less inviting for the cat's toiletry habits. We have only been here for 1 month and trying to cultivate the garden back to life. Slowly slowly. Too much work to be done but enjoying.

I have two female cats. They are about 2 years old. One cat is very well mannered and never gets into trouble. The other cat is constantly looking for it. She messes with the blinds, Christmas tree, stockings, cables, jumps on counters, dressers, etc. I've tried things like spraying her with a water bottle when she's bad and spraying some organic cat repellant around the areas that she shouldn't be in. She will leave whatever she is messing with alone for a minute, but then will be right back at it. I'm frustrated with it. What else can I do?

5 month old male, nuetered kitty. Got his 2nd distemper and the rabies vaccine four days ago- no side affects. Yesterday gave him frontline. Last night (about 12 hours after my putting frontline on him) he is vomitting clear, frothy liquid. Im trying to figure out if he 1. ate something 2. somehow licked the frontline even though I placed it well 3. is having a late reaction from one of the vaccinations or 4. is having an internal reaction to the frontline.

Kitty also had tapeworms and was given an injection 4 days ago to get rid of them. Could this be from that? I am unsure because he had no symptoms until last night. Thanks.

It seems not to be suffering any ill effects yet-does ground glass not affect cats, or am I not using enough?

My torti (yes the same one that's currently terrorizing our entire household - read my earlier question...LOL) is fearless.

When she's outside (when there's no snow) She will spread out on our sidewalk and not move for anyone or anything short of the lawn mower. A lot of people walk their dogs in my neighborhood. We have everything from Chihauhau's (sp?) to Mastiffs walking our sidewalks. My Maggie will not move! People and their dogs have to walk around her as she swats at them!

I know torti's are a cat of a different color (no pun intended :) but I would like to hear about other people's cats and their surprising characteristics...especially tortis.

My cat has been sneezing recently. We do have the fireplace going and unfortunately some smokers in the house. He seems to be himself other then the occasional aachoo. I don't want to run to the vet yet and get charged over $80 to tell me that he has a cold. Is there anything else that I can do?

Thank you for your time and Wally thanks you too.

mine does, and he gets the sauce on his white fur. It's so cute.

I'm becoming desperate to find Spotsie a good home. We live in Northeast Ohio and our winters are rough. I've only recently learned how affectionate, how loving, how sweet this cat is because he had an injury and I brought him in the house to recouperate. He is 1-3/4 years old, a beautiful chocolate siamese with such love to give. He is litterbox trained and the sweetest animal I've ever known. I wish I could keep him, but I already have a male cat indoor who believes he owns the house! I'd be willing to bring Spotsie to somebody who'll love him, care for him and give him a chance at a good life. Isn't there somebody out there that can take him? I cannot do the APL because they no longer have a no-kill policy and there are no shelters around that have room for Spotsie. To find him a good and safe home would make for the best holiday season as that's what it's all about - helping one another and caring for one another! Thanks in advance....
