That's what they call it "catting around". He is going to go hunt for mice, birds and anything else that may get his attention. My cat goes into the woods in the morning and stays all day, no telling what she is doing. She has brought home a few friends along the way. < - , - > meow!

its a tom cat(male) he is out protecting or extending his territory....the healthy the cat the bigger his territory will be...if he is staying out longer each time his territory is getting bigger, this is a sighn of a health male cat, this is all normal....also he is out hunting food, even though you feed him its his nature to hunt, just be thankful he doesnt bring home what he kills, some people have trouble with their cats bring home prey to show off to their master what they can do and what they achieved........what he is doing is animal instinct and is naturel..now if it was a felion(female)and stayin out all day and night, might be a problem...she may come home and in a few months youll have more cats....if its a female and ya dont want more cats...then you should have her spaded.....
