But they are both scratching again and my cat has scabs and sores all over again? Why are they scratching again?

Frontline Plus has to be applied every month. If you had a bad infestation, there are new eggs hatching. Frontline Plus is not absorbed into the blood stream and the fleas don't have to bite to get dead. It is an insecticide that spreads over your cat's skin and kills fleas, flea eggs, and larva every place the cat lays.

Raid makes a new spray just for fleas that has a purple cap. It is in your grocery store. You need to vacuum your carpets really good and throw the bag away immediately. If it is a cannister vacuum, that doesn't use a bag, shoot a squirt of Raid into the cannister. This Raid isn't like a fogger or bomb and you don't have to leave your house when you spray it.

Did you mark your calendar when you applied the Frontline? Time goes so quickly , especially around the holidays, I'll bet they are due for another application. You have to do it every month or it doesn't work.

If you haven't seen any fleas, maybe your cats picked up ringworm. I've seen a lot of posts on the board about ringworm lately. Just some things to consider.

Hi, Frontline kills the fleas after they already bite the animal, not before.
Your cat might be highly allergic even to one bite.
Vacuum your house every day, just because you can't see the fleas doesn't mean they're gone, they are still there.
Powder your carpets then vacuum your home again and if you still have problems, bomb your house but make sure all your animals are out of the house and their food and water is covered up.
Good luck.

Did you bath your animals soon after you applied the Frontline? Have your animals been exposed to large amounts of water (ie rained on a lot or several baths???)....if not, you should call your vet and try and get another application for free.......scabs though? Are you sure there is not an allergic reaction going on here?

You probably have a bad infestation in your house. I would recommand doing a flea bomb at least twice to make sure you get all the life cycles and if that doesn't work call an expert. They will clean the house and then try the frontline again. It will probably work then.

I currently too have this problem with my 3 cats. They have their own little room but when we thought we got rid of them we forgot to spray this one little area and now they have them twice as bad. My one cat is starting to rip her fur out to try to get rid of them... So make sure you get every inch and vaccuum everything you can. Also try a fogger and other spray products some of them may work better then a prescription from the vet. Also check your animal on a daily basis, if you catch the problem early it is much easier to get rid of. Hope this was helpful.

The medication probably wore off a little early. Also, did you remember to disinfect and clean all the spots where they hang out? Some fleas can be living there, and now they're coming back on board.
