Does anyone have any idea how to stop my lovebirds from breeding? Perhaps a medical procedure? Someone at work mentioned there might be something I can add to their drinking water.

Thanks for your help.

My sister's daughter accidently sat on their 3 year old parakeet..At first they thought the leg was broken. He seemed to have trouble breathing, but was alert. My sister could not get it to the regular Vet. because it was a Sunday. She found someone local and after checking the leg. The Vet said that it looked like it was just the leg cause the bird seemed alert. On the way home the bird died. It was traumatic. We are guessing that it was internal injuries. Has this ever happened to any of you folks out there? My sister felt guilty, but I told her that she did the best that she could do under the circumstances. Needless to say my niece feels very badly as well.

after owning our bird for a little more than ten years everyone was under the assumstion that Charlie (our bird) was a male. Unitl last week when he or i should say, she started laying eggs. snd she has never been exposed to any other bird. So whats the deal and we have kept her on the same diet ever since we got her. so can someone please help me make sense of this.

I totally support the idea because my budgies are tamer and I dont have to worry about them drowning in the toilet or crashing into a window and they get excercise by climbing and playing with toys, but what do you think, do you love the idea or do you think it's bad?P.S you dont cut off the WHOLE wing. Just the feathers that are essential for flight.

He did used to crash into stuff, and his longer tail feathers would break, and eventually fall off. now he has no long feathers. I know they'll grow back, but is it healthy for birds to lose that many tail feathers?
