I got him from a bird store where he was hand fed. He is about 7 months old. I have tried putting the fruits and veggies in a bowl for him, but that isn't seeming to work and I've tried giving it to him when I'm holding him too.

He whistle too much now. I work from home, so everytime he sees me (the computer is 7-9 feet away from him) he keeps whistling an di cant get work done. i have to be sitting RIGHT next to him to get him to be quite. and he does this ALL day. then if i have to get up to go and get something or to go bathroom he whistles to the point where my ears are ringing. even now he's whistling and im only 7 feet from him. i already played with him for 15 min. (its barely 9:30) and he woke me up with his LOUD whistle which i could hear upstairs at 9. how do i get him too spot? (WITHOUT having to pet him every time cuz right when i stop, he continues to whistle)?

I have a lot of bird seed around for my pet birds and these moths come out of the sacks of bird seed.
I would like suggestions of non chemical solutions. If I spray chemicals ~~~ it could affect my cockateils, love birds and finches.

How often do baby mocking birds have to be fed???
Also if you know anything else about baby mocking birds & adult mocking birds please tell me.

& no I don't have a mocking bird.
I am not planning on getting one. I was wondering because I have seen a few of them around my house & they have some fledgelings & I wanted to know a little bit about them.

Thanks!!!

My brother got a parakeet from petSmart about a year ago. He is VERY timid, and doesn't like people AT ALL. If you stick your hand in his cage he'll freak out, and we just don't know what to do with him!

We think it was because the person at petsmart used a NET to catch him with, and he just can't forget that. Are there any ways we can "bond" to help him get over his fear?

we have a koop with about 20 chickens..when i went outside this morning, i noticed that one of our laying hens (Goldie) was laying over on her side. she wasnt squaking and when i picked her up, her legs were limp and she couldnt stand up on her own... it only seems to be one of her legs that cannot support her....it looks like maybe she had a stroke and her left side is parlized..but is that a probable cause? its a buff orpington and she just reached laying age (about 6 month)...she is a free-range chicken during the day and at night she sleeps in a coop with about 20 other hens and one rooster....does anybody know whats wrong with her?

My mom and i found a newborn bird tonight. It doesnt have feathers...its reddish pink and bald. It hasn't opened it's eyes. I googled it to find out what to feed it. It told me to feed it every 45min and this is the recipe it provived: 1cup dry dog/ cat food soaked....a hard boiled egg...one fourth applesauce and vitamins...mixed up like oatmeal. I fed it to the bird and i am going to bed now....should i wake up every 45min or will it be okay until 2maro morning? It is sleeping in a container with crumpled up towel unter a nice heating pad with a towel in between. is there any other accomodations i should make for it? Do you know any hot-lines or places that could take it?

What questions should i ask the bird breeder, handler, dealer person? is it really ok to get a bird at a pet department store? What qualities should i look for in the bird im looking for?

My Quaker Parret got his foot caught in between the bars of his cage while I was at work. There is blood all over his cage. I am not sure if he was trying to bite the bars or bite his foot to get it loose. There is alot of blood. He is acting really wierd, not talking or flying. There is no vet open around here what do I do?
