I really want a leash for my budgie so I can take him outside to enjoy the weather, instead of moving the cage outside. With a leash he can explore and have fun instead of being stuck in a plastic box. I found one for 'petite' birds at Petsmart and bought it. I just tried for more than an hour and a half to get it on. He's a baby bird and while he struggles, I would have been able to get it on him had it not been such a FREAKING COMPLICATED and ridiculous contraption. By the time I was done there were enough feathers on the floor to make a coat and I just gave up. And I don't like stressing him out for such a long time, but the payoff would be so worth it! I know tey have more normal leashes for bigger birds but it's harder for smaller birds. Any ideas, thoughts? Have you ever successfully used a leash on a budgie? Is it too stressful for them? I know theres that one with a poop pouch, does that work better? And lastly, if I took him out without a leash do you think he would

I have seen this behaviour many times, both at the bird waterer and they will carry the feces to a puddle in the road and drop it in or near the water.

This has been asked before, but I have 6 Cockatiels 3 females and 3 males. Don't know if the eggs are fertile or not. How would I tell? Also, what do I do with the eggs.

Or, phrased another way, its 1:15 am, its pitch black outside, and a bird has been singing like crazy for the past hour outside my window.
WTF?

I just got 11 chickens and I want to know if they are bad for your health. Some lady told me that they can cause cancer, salmonella, and other diseases. Please give me a source where I can see the info you gave me.

White eggs with brown spots. Medium sized bigger than a chickadee's eggs. Eggs were cold, so the mom couldnt have been there recently.

I apparently have a couple of parakeets in love. There are 3 eggs the female is sitting on. I added grass to the cage per "Pet Smart" employee hoping she would make a nest to no avail, she apparently doesn't mind just sitting on them at the bottom of the cage. I worry about the chicks should the eggs hatch? Will the be okay on the bottom of the cage??? Do I need to remove the male from the cage? Will he bother/kill the chicks?

There is a fabulous website for bird lovers. There is a webcam inside and outside a bluetits nest. There is 24 hr coverage and it has been going on since before the birds built the nest. I should have given you this information ages ago but I honestly only thought of it now. The eggs have been hatched but its still not too late to see the miracle going on. Incidentally, this is run by the national broadcasting company of Ireland and is perfectly safe to click into. It is being viewed worldwide as news of it spreads. The web address is www.rte.ie/mooney. If your interested in birds, bluetits in particular, you will love this.

There is a stray wood pigeon sitting on my patio. It's unresponsive to my moments and appears to be gasping for air. It has been doing this for an hour now. There are no visible injuries.
