both make sure u feed them healthy, safe veggies and fruits and sometimes pellets and seeds too. make sure that they are safe though it is better to be safe then to be sorry.many of the veggies and fruits have acid like tomato that parakeets cant handle .....avacado..apple seeds...cherry seeds...and much more

Parakeet should be eating more vegetables than fruit. Fruit is high in sugar and should be more of a treat. The ideal diet for a bird is 1/3 seed, 1/3 pellets, and 1/3 fruit/veggies.

Along with seeds and pellets, Parakeets should also be offered fresh water, fruits, and vegetables.

If they feel they are loved and cared fore. They need constant company. I always keep the radio on when I am not at home. Even the dog is hqappy to hear the radio.
