No. Certain types of lice can be found in wild birds, but lice is very uncommon in pet birds. Do not attempt to treat your bird, and especially do not use those lice/mite treatment tins you hang on the cage--they are toxic. If you suspect a problem, contact an experienced bird vet for proper treatment.

Yes they do and they look like little black dots on the birds body. They have sprays like you can get at Walmart's and Pet stores that should kill them. Make sure that you check for them every day!!! I do that with my cockatiel who is 20 years old and she's only gotten lice once. But I bought some spray that kills mites and lice and that does the trick. I keep some just in case!!!

Yes. There is such a thing as both bird lice and mites. Gross little creatures that crawl in their feathers. Yuck! If you have a pet bird with either, you need to schedule a visit with your vet. He/She will give you meds to get rid of them. These little buggers (haha) can be dangerous to your birds health as they can transmit diseases to your bird and provide overall discomfort. Good luck! Hope everything goes well--or if you're just curious, lol, that's what google's for J/k ;-)
