I am looking after a duck but have run out of his food. I only have him for another day. nowhere in the area I live does anyone sell duck food, the closest thing I have found is hen laying mix in a 10 kg bag. My duck is at the stage where he has lost most of his baby down and has feathers everywhere execpt his head and wings. I am thinking of feeding dry dog food, parsley, celery, grass, rolled oats, slugs ect from the garden, weet bix cereal and mabye fish food? are any of these things dangerous? I have heard too much protein causes deformed feathers. also does anyone know how much he should weigh? he is a mallard cross.

my cousins have two parakeets
blue- white : Ivy
green- yellow: Carrie

apparently a couple of months ago, Carrie becomes Cory: the blue one laid eggs
they said that they took turns getting on top of each other, they both did the same stuff
and now Cory laid an egg too
so now they're all like... what just happened?

they said they're positive that it was Carrie because they were in seperate cages when this happened

any explanations to what happened?
who's the guy?

My husband and I just found a duckling in our backyard....we are about half a mile from a pond. We have NO idea how he got here. My husband had just sprayed flea and tick killer in the lawn and some DID get on the duckling. We washed him with warm water and dawn soap. But, what NOW?! Food? Heat? I am clueless...

The water gets so gross that the bird won't drink it. And, of course, I clean it out. But sometimes I can't be at home. Does anyone know why the bird is doing this and if I can get it to stop?

We found a baby bird and it seems like he wants to eat all the time is there a limit? We bought worms and he eats them fine but his mouth opens every time we walk by. This is a wild bird.

A friend had three duckling dumped in his small pond outside his home. They're still in the fluffy stage but they have a black stripe up the bill, black on their heads, and yellow feet. Can anyone tell us what kind of duck they might be?

I found a duckling stranded on the road today. I know of a bird rehabilitation facility who would take him, but I would like to know what I can do to care for it in the mean time, seeing as it may only be a couple days before i can safely get it there.

What can I feed it and how?
Should i include a shallow water dish as well?

thanks!

This is the second time I've posted this question, but i did not get much of a response the first time so here I go again. My parakeets feathers that are right around the top of its cere is turning brownish. When I first got him/her they were bright yellow. I have given my little bird a bath so I know its not dirty, but what could it be?
Also, if any of you have some advice for a new parakeet owner it would be much appreciated. I really want to establish a relationship with my bird and I want to do it the right way.
Oh one more thing how do you tell the age of a parakeet when they are almost solid in color.

my son scared a duck away from an egg when passing the duck on his bike. he returned the same route today and the egg was still in situ and not a duck in sight. he has now brought the egg home and stuck it under a lamp. any chance that the 'egg' may have survived ?

I have 5 eggs in my grill from. I haven't touched them, pretty much just leaving my grill alone. But how would some of you move the nest and eggs so the Robin comes back and takes care of its eggs, and I can use my grill?

Thanks,
