Found an injured bird. Can't take it for help until the morning. What do you feed it? Or should I not worry about it? I have it under a warm lamp for now. It took some water from an eye dropper.

Yes it is a wild bird. We are going to try the dog food right now. Thank you for your advice. We have a rehab area about 1 hour from our house that specializes in wild animal rehab.

small chopped up insects, dog food soaked in water, tiny pieces of egg.

If this is a wild bird you need to bring it to a licensed rehabber ASAP. Keep it as warm as possible until you are able to do so.

UPDATED: Id try to avoid the cat food, it generally has too much protein which can cause a number of digestive and development problems. It really would depend on the cat food you used, dog food is your best bet because its pretty much neutral in terms of the protein content

If this is a wild bird you need to get it to a licensed rehaber as in a lot of places at least in the USA it is illegal to keep any wild animal without the required permits.
If you have to wait until tomorrow you could soak either cat or dog food in water and get in VERY mushy and feed by the eyedropper this should be done about every 2-3 hours.
Good luck

Unless you know what the parents eat, dog kibble is the best choice. DO NOT chew up food and give it to any bird. The E-coli in your saliva will quickly kill it.
