First, figure out what kind of bird it is. Look at the momma bird and go online and check out your local birds. Once you know what kind of bird she is, then you can then look to see what their behavior is like. If this is a bird that pushes the little ones out to learn to fly, the you can bet that is what she was doing. If you learn that she pushed the baby out because of rejection, then contact your local vet and ask for advice on what to feed the little one until it can grow strong enough to be out on its own.

If you can put it back in the nest, or a nest that you make up on a tree, like a cage with an open door near the nest, and watch if the mother goes to feed him, that's the best thing to do.
If you can't, or if the mother doesn't go to feed it, you could put it in a large cardboard box with newspaper at the bottom, and holes on the sides, with a wire frame (a fridge shelf or something) on top, so that he doesn't fly out. It is important not to put it in a cage where he can see you pas by all the time, because it causes stress to birds.
Then, soak kitten dry food in water and then mash it up into a cream. Put the cream into a syringe without a needle, and then try to open the birds beak and put the food deep in his mouth, not in the beak, but at the back of the mouth. You can also give him some baby food (cream). Careful not to choke him though.
Before you do all that, you can give him a little water. You do that by dropping a few drops of water with an eyedropper or a soaked piece of cotton on the nostrils, they communicate with the beak, you'll see him swallow. don't drop anything other than water through the nostrils though, you don't want to block them.
Gradually, as the bird grows older, you must teach it to eat by itself, bird seed or worms. Don't buy worms sold as bait though, they have chemicals that can poison the bird.
When he is old enough to fly well, not just fly around, and once he's learned to eat alone, you can let him go.
It's best to contact a wildlife centre near you. don't listen to people who say it will die. I do voluntary work in a wildlife rescue centre and we save many birds like that every spring. But you need to know how to do it. It's worth it though. Oh, feed it often, like 2 ml every 2 hours.

Nothing. Mother nature will take it's course. Either the mother bird will help the baby find a safe place or a cat will get it. Sounds harse but true. If you touch the bird you are guarnteed that the mother will never come back to take care of it. Unless you like chewing found and think you can feed it. Which is unlikely it will survive no matter what you do. Then just walk away and forget you even say it. Believe you me, I am an animal person, and I cry whenever an animal gets hurt but there really is nothing you can do. Good Luck!

The bird is a fledgling. The parent pushed it out of the nest because it's time to learn to fly. Obviously the chick doesn't think so. The parent will take care of it, feed it and protect it until the chick figures it out. Leave it alone. NOT because touching the chick will make the parent abandon it (that is a very stupid rumor as birds have no sense of smell) but because the best thing to take care of the chick is it's parents, NOT YOU!

Try to buy some NeoNate (baby bird food) and follow directions carefully. This is found at petstores. Try to call wildlife rescue these babies die very easily. Most of the time if the mother pushes a baby out its cuz something is wrong with it or they are trying to teach it to fly. If you think its at the age of learning to fly then put it back momma will take care of it. If its too young to fly then GOOD LUCK.

If she has feathers she belongs on the floor as he or she is a fledgling chicken and the be certain birds will shield her there till she learns to fly which would be some days. they won't come around while you're everywhere close to nevertheless as they think of they're finest you to the baby and you to them are a predator. stay away and watch hidden. they'll nonetheless look after it even nevertheless you have touched it. they have undesirable experience of scent. If no feathers then make a nest out of cool whip bowl line with tissue and poke little holes in backside. connect close to to the place you chanced on keeps to be of the nest. they'll hear the cries and are available. stable success.

Leave it alone, the mother bird usually pushes their young out of the nest when they feel it is time for them to leave, and usually the parents are close by to protect it,Blue Jays do this to their young all the time but stay close and attack anything that even gets close to the little ones.
Also if the baby has a defect from birth, the parents usually know this and will either kill the baby themselves or just remove it from the nest to protect the others she is rearing.

Emmie, you're a very caring person for worrying over this little fellow.
Whenever in doubt over what to do for a wild animal or bird, call your local wildlife rescue organization. They will advise you as to how you can help the baby or come and take care of the chick themselves. It is Spring so keep their number handy!
Good luck!

Dont touch it, as the mother will then abandon it for sure. The mother was probably trying to get it to fly, but pushed it out too early.
Im afraid that the bird will probably die - if it didnt manage to fly from the nest, it wont be able to fly from the ground...its just nature Im afraid.
