Goslings need high protein, non medicated food and you can buy this at a feed store. They do best on crumbles, because ground up food can get in their noses. They shovel food in like a duck, and like to drink water all of the time. Keep them out of a pool of water until they are about a month old, or until their feathers start coming in. The down which they are hatch with, doesn't have any oil in it to keep them from getting waterlogged.Once their feathers start coming in, they will preen them and spread the oil from the base of the feathers. This waterproofs them and it will be hard to get them out of the water then. They are like kids playing in the water.

If you have a fence up for them, they will also graze on grass. They are also suppose to weed your garden, but strawberries are just to good to pass up.

Give them a lot of attention when they are young. They will think that you are their parents and will follow you around. This is called imprinting.

No, the best thing to give him would be mashed up monkey chow with an eye dropper or medicine dropper. You can call around and see if anyone sells it. My mother hand raised several ducks and gesse and thats what she always used, that or mashed up bread and water .
