Mom died but 2 days before she did Millie the bird mentioned a name of a person several times who would be at the funeral that I've not seen in years .. Millie does not even know them either! When I came home she stuck her head real close out of cage and looked at me in sympathy and moaned like weeping because I was so hurt with mom gone.

He is bonded to me and won't let my bf hold him...but for some reason he likes tol talk like him. We go him together about 2 years ago. He will sometimes talk like me but very rarely. i just thought they would talk like the person they love the most. I talk to him all the time. Oh and also he talks all the time when it's just me and some girlfriends and he is very quiet when he is in the room? WHY?

I've had Cocoa (I didn't pick the name) for about 5 years now, and she's scared of everyone! She's probably been like that her whole life because I got her when she was about 3 months old. We were told she was a guy, but this spring, she laid an egg. She lives with a green cheek conure in the same cage, but when we first got her, we put her with our sun conure who is about the same age as her until it started picking on her. She gets along with our green-cheek just fine, but she runs or flies away every time someone comes close to her. She hasn't had any bad experiences with humans from wut I know, so she shouldn't be doing that. And when she does come out, she flies around for a long time and sometimes hurts herself. Now we don't let her out, but we handfeed her sometimes, which is the only way she comes by us, and even then she's scared. The person we bought her from at the bird show had her in a large cage with alot of other cockatiels in it, so that could be something. plz hlp.

Hey, thnx 4 even clicking on the question. My little bro got a 2 month old kitten on sunday, and it's great, but the problem is that whenever it goes in the room with birds, it stares @ them in that position cats go in when they want 2 pounce. Now I'm afraid 2 leave them in the house together cuz I think the kitten will try 2 eat them and/or scare the 3 birds. The birds R in cages, but I still don't want the cat thinking they're food and going after them. I can't move the cages cuz that room was designed 4 them. there's no door and I can't build 1 cuz of issues with the city. Plus the fact that I'm only 13 and don't have enough cash or know how 2 do that and my parents wouldn't like a door there anyway. We aren't gonna let the cat stay outside cuz she'll get a taste 4 birds if she catches any, and our house is rly big. plz help cuz I like both the birds and the cat, but they can't live 2gether if the cat wants 2 eat them.

I know you may think that with a bird, there is no such thing as cuddly, but I've seen many birds who bond with their owner well, and are kinda cuddly, but I was wondering which of the following are the most people-oriented and/or cuddly birds?

1. Cockatiel
2.Budgerigar(Budgie)
3. Conure.

My turkey is big and heavy so I'm wondering if her weight is the issue. I don't want her to be in pain. Eating her is out of the question as we are quite attached to her! I just wonder what can be done if anything. Any helpful suggestions?

i have two scared budgies and they are no longer babies. when i bought the first bird he was scared by a family member and he has stayed scared of humans since, so someone told me if he had another bird he would be happyer and less afraid, so i went and bought another one but now that one is just afraid. i have thought about giving them away to a friend so they could be in an avery with other birds but someone told me i cant do that because i keep them inside at night and the avery is outside and truly i dont want to give them away . what should i do and what if i dont have the time to sit by the cage everyday holding my hand in ?

My boyfriend and I recently purchased a conure and we already love him to death. He loves to snuggle, especially under the blankets. But we aren't keen with him sleeping with us like this at night in our bed for obvious reasons. When we put him in his cage, he just clings to the wires and never sits on his perch. He moves around all night and makes little noises. We read that they like nesting boxes and since he likes to be covered with a blanket, we made a little "snuggle box" for him. But he hates it. What else can we try? I'm worried that he isn't getting enough rest. The other thing I should mention is that we have a parakeet, which we keep in our spare bedroom. Eventually we want the conure's cage to sit in the same room as the parakeet's, but they are still in the "getting to know each other phase." Therefore, for now, the conure's cage is in our bedroom. Do we need to move his cage out of our bedroom? Thanks for any advice!
