Somone stated above that you can't teach an old dogs new tricks. This is FALSE. You can too and just like a dog a bird can be trained. It will take a lot of work on your part and a lot of time. The use of millet as a treat can be a great help.
How tame is she? Is she use to hands? does she step up? If not you need to start at the begining, which is putting your hand in the cage and holding it there, with a bit of millet in the palm of your hand to tempt her onto it.

parakeets aren't real trainable to begin with. I mean they'll talk if they are males and if they are used to being handled from a small age they are handleable but other than that, they really don't do alot. At the age of 3 and a half I'd say you pretty much have what you have what that bird. You can definatly try though, keets can live a very long time. You are looking at a bird that can like 15-20 year givin the right circumstances so by all means, work with the little guy. It won't hurt and I'm sure he'll love the attention!

hey there, thats already a little to old for the bird to ever become really tame. The best age to tame is from 6-10 weeks. after 3/4 months it will be difficult to tame your bird. You can still help it develop trust for you though and give it lots of tlc!!

i always say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. But a parrot or bird should not be so hard to train, just don't use a training collar sice you might fry it.

yes- you just have to be patient. get a book from a pet store on them and they explain hand-taming, etc.
