I have a lovely parakeet and a friend advised that I have his wings clipped. I'm unsure and would appreciate the views of others to help me decide what to do, thanks.

every year birds make a nest in my chimney. I can hear them from my walls. But I don't mind, because I love animals. When I go outside to my backyard, this one bird always flies down to the fence and looks at me. He or she is friendly, and I noticed that for about 6 months it likes to visit me when I sit outside. Can birds recognize strangers and feel comfortable with them?

I have been wanting a bird for the longest time....and I think I want a budgie, but im not sure if it would be the right choice for me. Here are what my personal lifestyle and criteria for a bird is:

~I live with a 5 year old (but she knows not to hurt to hurt the bird)

~I have a cat (i could keep the bird in a closed room away from the
cat)

~I want a fairly small bird

~I want an inexspensive bird: $300 or less for initial cost (including cage and toys) and less than $30 every month after

~I want a bird that "could" learn to talk (its ok if it doesnt)

~I dont want a bird that can live over 25-30 yrs (I would take care of it if it did live longer than expected, but only want a short-lived bird)

Please help, and could anyone tell me on average how much a budgie would cost including cage, toys, etc.?

Will a weaned, fledged baby parrot grow any bigger with time, or is the size at fledging the size it will remain for its life?

How hard would it be to get them to be friendlier, or are they too old to socialize? Not sure if I want to take this on - what's your opinion?

im not sure what to do at this point. she laid an egg 2 nights ago and neither the female or the male has laid on it i dont think. neither one of them seems to be paying much attention to it. does this mean that it is dead? they are both homing pigeons. the egg isnt soft so that isnt a problem. is this a sign that the pigeons are neglecting it? i dont know anything about the way pigeons treat thier eggs or anything like that. please help!

The place I work has 4. Very annoying! How do you keep them quiet? Don't tell me to set them free or kill them.

I have four parakeets and have had them for around 3 years. They have been in my room for about the past two years but just recently (past few months) they have started singing or squawking late at night.

I am woken up numerous times (probably close to 10 times) a night and then can't get them to shut up. I have a cover for their cage at night and when I'm asleep all the lights are off so it's very dark.

Why have they just started this recently and what can I do to change it?

I saw my bird breathing with her mouth open when I took her out of her cage. Am I stressing her out too much? Also, she was mumbling and it sounded like an old man mumbling. Should I not take her out of her cage anymore? Thank you for your help
