Hamster! A parrot will live for 75 years and requires fresh fruit and tons of care. Do not get a parrot unless you are willing to spend a lot of money and time. They get very lonely and you can't just "give them away" when you are tired of them. They are very sensitive.
We looked into gettting one but it is a HUGE investment of time and money and really seems more of a burden. We have 3 dogs and love spending time with them but they are not as expensive as a parrot and easier to care for.

Well that all depends on how much attention you are willing to give, or how much you are around(do you leave a few days at a time, etc)because hampsters are loners, they dont need much, some dont like to be handled at all.You can leave for a 3-4 days at a time, and as long as you fill up there dish and watter bottle, they would be fine, Parrots need to be talked to alot, they need to be around sound, and should be stimulated. And you should cover there cages nightly so they can sleep, and uncover in the morning. Plus, hampsters are way cheaper, food, cages, and even the pet alone is far more inexpensive.

Hamsters don't require any attention except food, water, and to clean their cages.
Parrots need love and attention on a daily basis. They are much more difficult to care for. They are lots more responsibilty.
You can ignore a hamster for weeks or even months and he will be just as happy.

Parrots are much more social and intelligent, so they need much more attention to be happy. That means the hamster would be easier. (Also, parrots are much louder and dirtier than hamsters.)

Oh my --a hamster. Parrots are not easy and they are expensive. If it dies you are out some bucks. Hamsters are a dime a dozen. And they breed like crazy. You will never run out of hamsters.

A hampster is easier for the lazy owner who dont have time to spend with a pet or for someone who likes quiet pets, but parrots are alot more fun.

Oh um the place to commence. . Hamsters are nocturnal so as that they are going to be extra lively at night and sleep in the process the day . Syrian hamsters are extra solitary while Dwarf hamsters could be saved in pairs. . in the experience that your hamster looks a sprint off on the 1st day do not difficulty, in simple terms provide him/her time to settle into their new surrounding. i'm not likely to placed up a lot i'm confident there will be different posts explaining alot extra. good luck with your new hammy.. =)
