You should only put in nesting materials if she has a mate and if you intend for them to breed. if not then it is not needed.

Yes a good 10X10X10 nest box with some pine shavings in it will help her out completely. A nice roomy cage and fresh food and water daily, start her and the male on the KAYTEE Hand feeding formula right away as if youd feed babies with it, let them eat that freshly made 2 times a day and when the babies hatch out from having such healthy parents they will eat that to feed to their babies. I have raised birds for 20 yrs and it is the only feed I find that keeps my birds the heathliest.

Producing eggs takes a lot of energy. Some birds will not nest unless stimulated to do so.
Unless you are an experienced breeder and are planning to breed the bird, I don't suggest that you do anything to prompt the nesting behaviour.

Only if you intend to breed her. Giving her nesting materials will encourage her horomones and an overly horomonal hen is very hard to deals. To the bird it is also deadly.

So sorry on your loss. no matter how massive or small that is continually complicated to lose a puppy. Take the chicken back to the puppy shop. they might want to be in a position to provide you yet another chicken. with any success they are going to be understanding. be particular to do it quickly in spite of the undeniable fact that. you do not favor the useless one to rot. Plus, you do not favor your male to get lonely. As for the eggs, they are likely surpassed with the aid of now. you may get an incubator yet with out the mother, that is unlikely the daddy will comprehend what to do. you ought to opt to take the eggs to the puppy shop too. that is as a lot as you. best of success to you and your pets! i desire this helps!
