Do I replace all the water from the bowl with fresh water once a week or change a little bit of it at a time?

I have a small 5 pound, 1 yr old maltipoo. As I am trying to find a good vet to get her fixed I am finding that getting her fixed ranges anywhere from 100-400 dollars. Is this really a risky procedure where you get what you pay for? Some vets are recommending blood work and many tests be run prior. Is this necessary? I love my dog and want to take really good care of her but does she need additional 80 -100 dollar tests if she seems to be in good health? Is there alot that can go wrong with this proceedure that I need to be super picky about the vet? Does she need pain medication injections? One vet recommends she stays overnight. Is this necessary? She is not monitored at night but they said they keep the temperature just right for her. Would it be better for her to just come home and be in her own bed?

I was told that I can only buy fish from one pet store for my tank, and if I mix fish from other stores, one group of fish would get ick. Is this true, or does the store only want me to shop there?

My best friend has 2 older Siberian Huskies and every time she lets them out to exercise the flies keep bothering their ears, it is at the point where they are bleeding, she has tried numerous sprays with no luck, do you have any suggestions to keep the flies away and also what can she use to heal the ends of the ears so they dont become infected? I know the vet gave her ointment but the flies still mess with the ears after that?? Any help would be great. I never had this problem where I live but she lives in town, could that be the reason?

Is your cat a "Free Range Cat" ???

Okay, seriously, I did do research on leopard geckos before i bought one, lol. Anyway, my gecko seems fine at the moment, however I dont think he has eaten for 4 days. Is this normal? And I wanted to know how long it takes before they are "tamed". I am currently holding Larry (my gecko) and letting him crawl on me daily, so how long do you think it will take for him to get used to me?

Now that I have established that our new kitten is indeed a female, it worries me. She is 13 weeks old and our other cat is 11 years old. Right now my older cat is still hissing and growling, but we've only had the kitten for a few days. I know it will take some time for the older one to accept the kitten..... but... Are they going to be able to eventually get along, or just tolerate each other even though they are both females?
(The oldest is fixed and we plan on doing the same for the kitten when she's old enough.)

My chihuahua sneezes whenever he wants to be let outside.
He doesn't even go near the door. He just sits there and sneezes untill someone gets up to let him out.

And now even if he doesn't wanna be let out, he sneezes alot anyway.

Is it possible that he has allergies?
If he does my parents are heka not paying for meds.

Just wondering if it's normal.

Which gender should I get (I don't want babies)?
How large of a cage should I get?
What should I put in the cage?
How much time should I spend with them?
What food can I feed it (other than normal rodent food)?
Where should I get my rats, pet stores or breeders?

Some jerk dumped 5 kittens on my property and the humane society wont help me cuz they're full, they wont even help me spay and neuter them. All the pet rescue places wont help me spay or neuter. I live 30 miles from Washington State so I called over there and they wont help me b/c I dont live in Washington. What in the hell am I supposed to do!! I took these poor kittens out of a box in 102 degree heat, I've been feeding them, I let them in my house, I box trained them, yet NO ONE will help me spay/neuter them!! Like its my fault some jerk dumped them on my property!!!! AGGGHHHHH!!! Its so frustrating!!!!!

It seems like a must in the breeding community to declaw the doberman. Docking i can understand. I'm not too much of a fan of ear cropping... but declawing ... soundz kinda painful.

We brought a kitten home that is only about 8 weeks old. When we tried to introduce the kitten to my sister's cat, they didn't get along at all. My sister's cat hissed at the 8 week old kitten and we want them to get along so we wont have to get rid of the kitten. Please help me to get these two along.

I own a 46 Gallon marine aquarium... I have had fish for about 5 days... I have checked my water qualities many times and my nitrate seems to be good... Today I checked it and it looks like its around 80!!!! Its usually around 20... I dont overfeed the fish so I dont understand why that would be like that! I did about a 5% water change and added some "prime" but it still seems high... The fish seem to be doing okay but I dont want to lose them! Last night I went to work and my mother forgot to turn off the lights... So the lights were on for about 18 hours! Could that have caused my nitrate to be so high? I have at least 100lbs of live rock and a 2 inch deep sand bed... If you have any questions just let me know. Thanks for your help!

I have a 2.5 year old indoor, female (fixed) cat. She is an attention whore (to put it lightly). She demands the attention of myself and my boyfriend. She whines incessantly and follows us all over the house. She head-butts us in an effort to get us to pet her, as if petting her 8 hours of the day isn't enough. She keeps us awake all night with her meowing, crawling over our heads, and scratching the closet door open. Kicking her out of the room is no help as she rams into the door repeatedly while crying.

What can I do to stop her need for constant attention?
