My fiance's dog is getting quite old--13 years I think. He's always been thin but now you can't pet him without feeling his bones. Although we are feeding him senior dog food and making it appealing to him by adding wet food and sometimes even gravy (the human kind) but his weight remains fighteningly low. His skin around his face and neck is hard and flaky, and the hair is thinning. His breath could not be worse. I worry that these are symptoms of a bigger problem. He gets checkups at a vet but I am unconvinced. Should we take him to see a different vet or should we just attribute it to old age?

My cat has an appointment Tuesday morning. Anyways, we are getting him checked from FLUTD. I've gotten opinions, and a lot of people said it's probably FLUTD. Anyways, I want more, hehe. His symptoms:

-straining to urinate
-small urination (one witnessed occurance)
-Dihareah
-Licking of his genitals

He's a neutered 4 yr. old male. I have a pic and video of his diaharea. E-mail me if you wanna see. And he doesn't have a blockage, because he can pee. But is it bacterial, or what?

One of my guppies is pregant.
Do i need to get one of those additives to the tank to place the female guppy in until she gives birth? I really don't want to have to buy one.

Will they survive?

The other fish in the tank is a male guppy, a neon, and a suckerfish.

I run around with a spray bottle of bleach and paper towels trying to keep up with my neverending spraying kitty. He has a clean litter box and also a dog run to go out into (there are no dogs around anymore). Is there a smell that repels cats (someone said lemon?). Please help as soon as possible (he even spayed my curtains) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

I have 2 male guppies in a ten gallon tank. I try to keep the tank as clean as I can, and I change the water weekly. For a while now, they have had tail-rot. I've tried everything I can find, but nothing seems to work. Some of the medicine says it works better with out carbon filters, but I'm worried that if I unplug the filter for a week at a time that my fish will run out of oxygen or have too much waste in the tank and it will harm them. Does anyone know any medicine for tail/fin-rot that can work with a carbon filter? Or am I just being too paranoid about unplugging the filter?

I just posted about my betta fish and buying the shrimp. Now, I am wondering, why he wont eat. When i first purchased him, he was fine. He ate and swam around and was fine. But then two days ago i changed his water and i took him out of the bowl and put him in a little one. I didnt use soap i just rinsed it with warm water. Then i put him back in the bowl. Since then he wont eat like he used to. And he gets really scared and flops around when i walk by the bowl. Whats wrong??????

More specifically, how long do cats stay in shelters before being put down?

I have a particular cat that I would really like to adopt, but first, I have to persuade my parents to let me adopt him. I'm trying to figure out how much longer I have left to adopt him.

My girlfriend and I have recently purchased some gold fish. Well quite often we find that many have died. She tells me that I'm feeding them too much food, and that they are eating themselves to death. (sounds crazy to me) What is the real reason, if any at all?

So, i have 3 aquariums. right now i am working on my 55 gallon tank. in my 55 gallon tank is freshwater tropical community fish. i love taking care of fish so far and i was wonder-ing how much harder it would be for me to start a slat water aquarium. i have a 55gallon tank. 20 gallon tank. and a 10 gallon tank. i would like to use one aquarium that i already have to start off with. although, all my aquariums have fresh water fish in them, so i could go get another tank but i already have 3 and there relly is no more room! lol. but i was thinking, how hard- and how much time -and everything that i would need to start a 20 gallon or a 29 gallon salt water aquarium. i need every little detaile, like filter's for the reef's what rock's to put in there what rock's you can put togather what different types of salt water aquqriums are there, everything starting from beging to end, PLEASE. i heard there were some small salt water fish you could put in the tank after 30 day's, unlike 2 mounths

Due to pet overpopulation and the amount of dogs euthanized due to overcrowding in shelters, should lawmakers step up to the plate and fine irresponsible breeders?

We have two cats that were rescued at about 3 months old. One cat fears the outdoors and runs away from the door every time we open it. The other, however, always goes towards the door to get outside.
We want them to remain indoors for various safety reasons and I'm wondering if the cat will eventually get it that he's not allowed outside or are we destined for door patrol forever.

Is it all right if i leave my 5month (right now) old american bulldog outside during the winter? right now he's inside but since we have family coming to stay with us for a couple months (wife's sister and husband) there isn't room for him and he's allerjic to dogs. Would it be alright if leave him outside for the winter if i build him a nice house with a covering and a roof? Will he be warm enough? I don't want him to get sick or anything so would this be possble.
