One of my guppies is pregant.
Do i need to get one of those additives to the tank to place the female guppy in until she gives birth? I really don't want to have to buy one.

Will they survive?

The other fish in the tank is a male guppy, a neon, and a suckerfish.

you don't really "NEED" to, but the fry really NEED a good place to hide once they are born. If you don't want to buy a isolation compartment to add to your tank or if you don't want to buy a seperator, then you should probably find good rocks around your neighborhood, wash them off (without soap), and stack them everywhere in the tank to make sure the fry can get in and out. The fry need a place to hide because guppies are notorious and will almost surely eat their young, males will especially eat young. They'll survive as long as they can find the food you sprinkle in the tank. they'll be scared to come out so you may have to place food close to them. This is when separating them is beneficial cuz you can feed them on their own and they won't feel scared to come out to eat.

No you don't need to buy that, I personally don't like to use it because it stresses the females out
Just get some real plants for them to hide and you're going to fine, 5-10, sometimes more always survive

Hope that helps
good luck

You have to seperate them, they will eat the fry....a few may survive without it, but not many.
